Just a quick check in as I am about to do some maintenance. Hit 22k today.
It's a 2 door 6 speed sport with 3.21 gears and open diffs.
I have the mopar 3" lift and 35x12.5r15 bf Goodrich km2s.
This weekend I will be doing an engine oil change with pennzoil synthetic and mopar filter. A new Fram air filter and 2 new windshield wiper blades. The dealers done my last two oil changes and used reg oil even when I requested synthetic. Both times. They charged me for reg. Oil.
Optional add on is going to be a cabin air filter to keep dust down inside.
I am commuting with the jeep and during high rpm up shifts I find it resists quick gear changes when you drive spiritedly. I am going to change the gearbox fluid to some royal purple synchromax fluid to see if it helps that.
Major parts replaced:
Front left wheel speed sensor.
Clutch slave cylinder
Clutch throw out bearing
Input shafts bearing retainer plate.
All warrantied.
Complaints:
The seats are horribly uncomfortable they rsttle and squeak: the headrests are angled terribly and hard as a rock. It's bad.
Throttle response is garbage. I can mat it to the floor and release without the engine responding at all. It's really that bad. Absolutely the worst response I have ever seen from any engine. I do not have the money to tune the engine nor 200-300$ for a throttle booster. How about you program the engine properly in the first place!?!?!
My final complaint is that the stability control is not defeat able in a way without disabling cruise control. I would prefer an option via flashing or something good to turn that garbage nanny stuff off! It kicks on during freeway entrances or exits if it feels any tire squeal or chirping it cuts all power and abs all four wheels until you straighten out. Also big bumps on the freeway activate it occasionally.
Major upgrades when money comes around will be 5.13 gears and some mechanical lockers. Probably a truss and gussets. Maybe even some bumpers.
Jeep on!
