2015 Wrangler changes

Wrangler continues with few changes — mainly to the audio system. For 2015, both six and seven speaker setups are getting 2.5” tweeters in the overhead audio bar; the sound bar and speaker pods are both new. The woofer, in Wranglers that have them, has been redesigned and centered. The changes should improve Wrangler’s sound.
Finally, Jeep is dropping five colors — Amped, Granite Crystal, Copperhead Pearl, Flame Red, and Dune — in favor of Tank, Sunset Orange, and Baja Yellow.

One of my few complaints...the sound system is absolutely terrible in my 2014. Good to hear about the updates to hopefully help and also happy to see my favorite color is getting dropped...

The Rubicon's X package continues, but with a name change to the Hard Rock package. The 10A's 1/2" lift seems to be returning to the Hard Rock.

Later in the model year, there will be a special edition based off the Sahara that will pick up the "X" name (how confusing!).

Interesting. I have the premium leather and sound in my 2014 Safari JKU and i think the sound is great - better than the premium sound I had in my 2012 BMW X5 and my 2007 Audi Q7. I'm glad I have the 2014 and did not wait for the 2015. I like the compartment in the swayback, and would not want to loose it to the subwoofer.

I was ready to order in either Granite or Anvil. Now no Granite and no known date for Anvil production. Ugh....

I find that Anvil not being available pretty interesting. All the other carry over colors from '14 are available right now. Why this one exception?

No idea, but I hope they don't end up cancelling it as well. I'll just have to wait and see...

Yep, I have a 2014 Rubicon X and the sound system is excellent, with the Alpine upgraded sound system. Don't be afraid to use the EQ control in the settings menu.

However, I have not heard the basic sound system included in most Wranglers.

Moving a woofer doesn't do anything since sound below 100hz~ is omnidirectional.

I sell high end audio for a living, for the past 20 years. Newer/re-designed is NOT always better.

Most people who complain about sound systems either don't know how to properly adjust an equalizer bar, and/or are using a crappy music source. Poorly compressed mp3's. If your music files are compressed below 320kbps, it is going to sound like crap no matter what audio system you use. And FYI, all iTunes files are below 320, so go figure.

Also, the Alpine tweeters seem to respond nicely to the Stock Tweeter Mod.

Thumbs up Love the big "woofer" in the '14

have to say I'm thrilled with the omni-directional presence of the big "Woofer" in my JKURX. The only thing that could make it better is to have two of them.
Just don't mind the slobber...

Taking top and doors off severely destroys the sound. Hoping that is what the new setup will fix.

Cool. I have not really read up on modding the jk stereo yet, too many other things to do. But I really have a problem with loosing the low end. I don't need excessive and obnoxious bump but I like to be able to hear it.

Hey folks,

I just joined up and noticed someone mentioned that Anvil isn't being offered in 2015 (Wrangler). I just ordered a '15 Wrangler Sport S about 2 1/2 weeks ago and even though it's not on the listing I was assured I could order Anvil so I did. My back up color was Black but as I said, Anvil is what I ordered. My car is due to ship on August 4th (or so I was told) so I guess mid August I'll know what shows up. If I do in fact get the Anvil I'll let you guys know.

Now that said in my haste I neglected to order side steps on my car. Does anyone know for sure if the '14 side steps are the same? My sales guy said they are but since I need to order them myself I kind of want to be 100% sure. Hate to buy a $300 part and have to return it.

Thanks,

Ed

Congratulations and

Maybe it wasn't stated clearly enough; it wasn't that Anvil wasn't available on 2015s, it was that it wasn't available to order at that moment. The restriction has currently been lifted, from my understanding. Ordering started June 6, but I don't think Anvil was available until the first week of July.

As far as steps, you should be able to order the same that would fit on a 2014. There were no mentions made of any structural changes made that would cause them not to fit. Several online sites STULL state that parts won't fit a 2014 when they fit just fine. They are just slow to update their fitment guidelines.

Hey Ed,

Glad to see that you are getting a Jeep. If you are new to the club, "There is only one rule in Jeep Club. Never talk about cars in Jeep Club." Just letting you know before some of these guys throw internet tomatoes at you. A Jeep is not a car and a car is not a Jeep.
Have fun in your new Jeep and don't forget to wave.

Check craigslist for side steps that people have taken off to replace with rock sliders. Can usually find them for half the price or even less.

Has anyone seen SUNSET ORANGE yet? Is it a pearl finish? Is it close to Copperhead??? Glad to see Amp'd is being dropped! That was baby poop yellow if I ever saw it!
Jeep is dropping five colors — Amped, Granite Crystal, Copperhead Pearl, Flame Red, and Dune — in favor of Tank, Sunset Orange, and Baja Yellow.

LOL Don't say that too loud someone with a Jeep that color might take offense to it...you should probably say Amp'd is "extra special" because it was only run for a limited time when in reality it means you don't have to see as many of them on the road

Really wish they would have done Granite Crystal on the 2015s. Would have been awesome to have a Rubicon X in that color.

Very much agreed.

One of the worst thing I have found here in WranglerForums, is how "my favorite color" threads so quickly degrade into "colors that suck". Such negative comments are always meant to deeply offend someone, and the moderators stand back and allow it.

Wierd how certain colors get dropped. I have (so obviously it was my favorite) a Granite Crystal Metallic and evryone that sees it raves about the color.
Guess I'm glad I didn't wait until '15.

Sometime in the beginning of September, when the 2015 model year officially starts.

I don’t understand Jeeps theory on selecting/dropping colors for new year models. In preparation of buying a JKU I regularly search cars.com or autotrader.com to get some idea of what dealers are asking. If you check it out you’ll see the overwhelming majority of 2013-14’s left are black, white, and silver. The colors they have dropped, especially Dune, are much harder to find. Meck-
