2015 Wrangler Sport Remote Start Install-- Quick Easy Cheap and Successful!

Hey guys, i have a brand new 2015 Jeep wrangler remote start install video for you guys. I hope this answers ALL your questions and concerns.

This takes literally 15 minutes and will cost you about $70.

Go ahead get yourself the following 2 components you will need:
1) xpresskit Dball or Dball 2
(available cheapest from ebay, newegg bestbuy etc.)
2) xpresskit (or aftermarket) CHTHD2 T harness to eliminate ALL wire cutting and keep your warranty intact.
(also available from above sources.)

Wherever you purchase the Dball, try to see if they can program it for the 2015 Wrangler or the wrangler/ vehicle of your choice. I just went to bestbuy and gave the guy $20 for the programming. You can also program it yourself through the xpresskit website using the $20 programmer called the XKloader2.

Watch the video and share your questions, comments and success!!

Yes is the short answer. See my video that I did on the 2011 wrangler on my YouTube channel and you will see how I did it there.

But here's the thing. To do it this way you need to use the remote that came with your vehicle. As far as I'm aware if you have manual locks you don't get a remote meaning you will need an additional unit that handles a remote. I will try to find out if there is a way to plug a module into the Dball that will give you a remote making this possible.

Nice job! I'm interested in the longer range Viper setup you mentioned too.

went to the xkloader2 website and this pops up.. did your unit have a date on it?
3X Lock Start Feature

As of October 1st, RSR firmware no longer supports the 3X Lock Start feature using your factory remote. However, it will remain supported on the Directed Digital Solutions (4X10/5X10), which offer better coverage. DBALL and DBALL2 will continue to support RSR and RXT functionalities through Directed RF kits and SmartStart, but will no longer offer 3X Lock Start capability.

No good with a 2010 manual, right? Must be automatics?

awesome video.

trying to do an install in a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara using a Directed 4x10 unit with a THCHC2 T harness and having an issue. has anyone used this set up yet? could someone point me in the right direction?

I have done multiple installs on Ford and Jeep vehicles but this is the first time using a T-harness and a remote start unit with a built in bypass. was hoping the T-harness would speed up my install A LOT, I must be missing something.

thanks, Chris.

Just ordered everything off Amazon, $115 all in for the DBALL2, T-harness and programmer and 2-day shipping. I've dealt with leaving the office after dark with the temps in the single digits for long enough. No more suffering! :)

Thanks for the video and info!

I believe for manual you would need a viper system in addition to the bypass because they have specific programing to bypass the clutch. Unsure and doubt this would work on a manual. If it did of course it would have to be out of gear otherwise your jeep would runaway on you lol.

Hey guys, here is a continuation of my last video which included a demonstration of the install of a Dball bypass which allowed the wrangler to remote start by clicking the factory key lock button 3 times. The issue with this system is that the range does not work very far and you literally have to be within 25 feet of the vehicle (depending on local interference) which for me is not always all that practical.

A main benefit for me with installing the viper system along with the dball is that there is no cutting involved. No warranties to void and no questions when you have to bring the car to the stealership for service (even though a wrangler never really needs to go).

I enjoy the viper system due to the feedback on the remote telling me that the vehicle has turned on as oppose to playing the guessing game.

NOTE: In the demonstration video i mentioned that the remote was not fully programmed to the system. This is an error on my part, without realizing it i programmed the remote to have a locking function as to not accidentally start the car unless i push the function and unlock button which then gives me a chime saying the remote is available for full function use.

I hope you enjoy.

Amazon.com: Fortin - EVO-CHRT5 - Stand-Alone Remote Starter System For Chrysler Dodge Jeep With Combo Regular Key: Automotive

One stop shopping, for 100 dollars, gets the job done. Plug and play, module and harness in one box. Same 3x to start using factory key.

Just need to email the seller and tell them what year and model you have so they can program it for you. I got mine from caralarmdepot

You do need to splice 2 wires (the only 2 yellow wires that come in the box)
15 mins for the whole install.

Theres even a video on youtube on how to install.

Theres a whole thread on it, but I cant find it

Fortin makes a good product but why would you want to splice wires and potentially void your warranty when you can just go the dball option and plug and play?

My issue with Fortin is that I could never get through to their support (could just be my luck). I was always talking to vendors and installers who weren't all that willing to help...

Dball(2) + T harness is under 100 as well unless my math is off somewhere.

The FlashLogic FLRSCH5 is also a great piece, 3X lock for stater and for a longer range add the FLRF1 module. I've installed at least of dozen of this particular model, easy plug and play... parking lights do require a relay and the long range module does need power and ground. Perfect product for the do it yourselfer :)

I did some checking, and it seems as though firmware from 10/1/14 and on would have that functionality removed. Guess what? The firmware for Chrysler that supports our JKs hasn't been updated. :)

402.CHRYSLER v5.06.01 File size: 273KB
Firmware Released Date: 12/16/2013

And the application guide confirms support for our JKs.

http://www.xpresskit.com/Compatibil...warename=402.CHRYSLER&firmwareversion=5.06.01

So if my assumption is correct then this will still work! I received the DBALL2, the loader and harness are still waiting on UPS to drop them off today.

Ah ha, ok. Easy enough.

Yeah, I recall in your video that you were getting red flashes after plugging it in to your Jeep until you went through that learning cycle, then you were able to go through and hold the programming button until you get green/red flashes, then pressed lock to get green and 2 red, then again for green and 3 reds, then press and hold the programming button again to exit.

Is that about right?

#56 ·
Correct. What I'm referring to is when you flash the dball it will let you fine tune specific options. And my previous post is one of the options you should like out for do you don't get a check engine light etc.

Now when I got my check engine light originally all I did was program it to unlock start and relock and I was done with that the light went away on its own right away so no worries.

Gotcha, I'll keep an eye open for those options. Thanks!

Still waiting on UPS. I have to wonder who else they deliver to first because I have this same problem here in IL as I did in CA; UPS doesn't get here until later in the day. Really annoying.

FedEx was here at 9am.
