Trading in a 2014 trailhawk. Here is the deals
Sahara with painted fenders and bumper covers , connectivity group and 5 speed with hard too. They are giving me 16,500 and the jeep costs 35,000.

75th anniversary , Heated seats, custom hood, and bumpers, but soft top. They are giving me 18,000 for my vehicle and it costs 37900.

Last jeep I owned was a 97 soft top pretty stripped. I started looking for a used jeep.... And we'll ended up here. Guessing both will hold the value pretty good? It will be 95% on road. Any thought please?

I bought the 75th Anniversary and I'm very happy with it.

Here's how I calculated whether it was worth it. You can make the same calculation, but maybe you'll still come to a different conclusion.

The 75th Anniversary package is I think around $4700 on the window sticker. Sure seems like a lot of money, right?!

But then take the things that are in that package that you could buy individually on a regular Sahara...... the leather seats, the seat heaters, connectivity group, locking rear axle. So just add up what those options cost separately on a regular Sahara and subtract that.

The little things like the different-color dash trim, instrument cluster, and wheels is a matter of taste. Personally I like it.

So then I came to the conclusion that the hard money calculation is that for a couple thousand bucks you end up with some really nice bumpers, and an interesting hood. (I actually like the plain hood better, but it appears I'm in the minority there.)

If you like the bumpers and hood, the 75th package is a bargain for what you get. (Looks like the power dome hood, added after purchase, would cost around $1500 or more with parts/paint/labor.)

I prefer hardtops, but I really like the 75th Anniversary.

BTW, the 75A is also a Sahara but with the fancy hood and bumpers --that's about $3,000 if you were to add them yourself; rock rails, fancy wheels and better tires, and many of them have a rear locker.

If you prefer a hardtop and like the 75A see if the dealer is willing to throw a hardtop into the deal; they are NOT cheap to add afterwards --about $2,000.

And yes, Wranglers hold their value amazingly well; just don't expect to get much back for any aftermarket mods.

Good luck.

Hard to say. Have you made a list of your "must have" features yet and ones that you either do not want and/or don't care about? That should be the first thing you do.

If it were me I'd go with the Sahara because I'm in the snow belt. I'd want a hard top because our winters will just beat a soft top to hell, and I can pick up a heated seat kit on Amazon for 50 bucks and do that myself by just watching a youtube vid on it (or pay a dealer to throw in a Mopar one). Going off your list and not double checking it on the OEM site, I'd also say that Connectivity Group is far more useful and desirable than a custom hood and bumper.

But yeah....make your list of must haves and start from there. No matter what Jeep you're looking at it will make evaluating the value for the money much easier.

I liked the 75th and my dealer offered $5500 off two different models he had on the lot that had every option I was looking for. Unfortunately, they were billet silver or Granite crystal, and I didn't like they way either one looked with the bronze accents.

BTW both of them already had factory hardtops. And both were stickered at $42,810. Minus $5,500

So I just ordered a 2017 Sahara.

Ok, just decided to go with the 75th anniversary. They are giving us 2,000 off sticker and 1500 more than any other dealer for the trade. Where I live , most keeps are selling for around sticker , it's hard to even find "good ones" on lots. The "look". Plus the seats and connectivity package is worth the extra. Thank you everyone for your input. You have been most helpfull as we have teetered both ways over the past few days.

I'm torn weather or not to ask them to include the hard top for 1700.00. Don't really need the hard top right now, but 1700 seems like a good deal I'm already over budget... I was going to get a Sahara with a hard top for 35,000 even, but the dealer on that one was giving me 1500 less than the 75AV, And for right around 37,500. I can get that one.... Give up hard top, get 430 radio, premium seats, heated seats, bumpers and hood for 1000-1500 .... That was my reasoning at least. Plus the Sarge green is my wives favorite.

You cannot put a price on your wive's happiness. Just make sure to remind her of that, regularly, over the next five years, or however long you are financing this Jeep, whenever she gets upset with you. :D

You can also tell the dealer that you really like --don't say your wife-- this green 75A but you need a hardtop and you are already over budget...and see what he proposes.
