There's a thread about hyper green, and another about hydro blue going away...

Does anyone know, What are the colors that will be available for the 2017 Wrangler?

I am waiting for orange...please bring it back! But not the most recent shade... Orange needs to pop! Not the dull orange shade of the most recent version please...

Odd. I can see Hyper Green not being up for the next year, but get rid of Hydro Blue? Really? That seems like a pretty popular color? Is it just me or do wranglers have way too many "drab" colors...dark silvers, grays, and blues.

The colors being discontinued for 2017, are from the planned "day 1" color pallet. Jeep changes and mixes up the Wrangler colors more often than I change my underwear ( :) ). Any color could come back later in the model year, or a new, but pretty similar, color could come out. A lot of times, we just never know, and Jeep pulls a surprise.

In general, vehicle colors are chosen several years in advance. Long before anyone really knows which will be a popular color. The colors are based on a lot on the direction the fashion industry is headed. To get a clue, watch the cerulean blue sweater scene in the movie The Devil Wears Prada. Just, in your mind, substitute "cerulean blue sweater" with "hydro blue Wrangler" while watching (also, substitute the designer names, with names like Mercedes and BMW, and "fashion show" with "car show").

The auto industry as a whole, seems to be into a cycle of "drab" colors right now. Overly influence by "Fifty Shades of Grey"?

Wow I wish I could have gotten one of those extreme purples. The only ones I could find were maxed out Saharas with painted hard top and fenders. Out of my price range so Hydro Blue it was. And I love it!

I really wanted orange or yellow but they weren't offered in 2014, so of course they were in 2015. I almost bought a Crush Sport but wanted the body color fenders. I think if I want a different color in the future it would be better to get vinyl wrap instead of trading for a new jeep.

your wrong 2014 had copperhead pearl, which was a metallic orange. sunset orange was the next new orange, which as like florescent orange.

Lots of 'drab colors' as there's lots of 'drab people'....like ME who buy Jeeps striving to avoid the splendor of the dazzling colored plumage of parrots.

I like to see those around now & then. My retinas simply don't need to be gobsmacked every time I catch sight of my Jeep though.

And living rural life style, earth tone Jeeps tend to soothe and reinforce the type of serenity I prefer. YMMV.

I really like most of the more "out there" Jeep colors. When I was younger, and really until I started paying close attention to JKs because I wanted one, I always pictured a yellow TJ or YJ in my mind when I thought of a Jeep. I guess I'd seen many yellow topless Jeeps with half doors or doorless in the summer, so I'd associated Jeeps with "crazier" colors, if you will (and I don't mean crazy or out there in a bad way at all). So I really like those more vibrant and bold colors, like the oranges, yellows, the bright greens, bright blues, etc.

But my Jeep is my DD. If I had a regular car and I could get a Jeep as a weekend, fun car, I would totally get it in a "cool" color. But for everyday, I agree, I think a colorful one would be too much for me personally.

I got mine used, and went for the best deal, so I didn't have too much control over the color. All I knew was I didn't want green, because my previous car was green and I didn't get to pick it because it was my first car, and I was not a fan of the green. It's funny, because when I found my used Jeep online at a BMW dealer in NW Jersey (it was a trade-in), the listing had it as "green" but the pics were all silver, so we called and the first thing I said was, "if it's green and you have the wrong pictures, I don't even want to come look at it." :) But the listing was wrong, it was silver.

But when I was looking, I almost got a red one, actually, and I looked at and considered many colors. Had I bought new or had more of a choice, rather than trying to find the best deal with what exactly I wanted, I would have probably gone with an all white Sahara or an Anvil one but new and even used Saharas are a lot of money, and I don't regret my choice at all given the deal I got - on top of many other cool things for the money, mine came with both tops. No regrets, but in the future if I get another Jeep, I will probably pick a less "boring" color. I love seeing each year's new colors!

In another forum, a member posted photos of his Hypergreen JKU HR... what a great looking Jeep. I tried to sell the color to my wife... but no way... her words? "I get a headache just looking at the photos" ...too bad because I like how it looks... still hoping that Orange comes back.

At this point I would wait, what?, 1 month? for the 2017 model. For what I have to assume is basically the same price you get a +1 year upgrade which helps resale value quite a bit at least in the short term.

I'll be pretty damn upset for ordering my Hypergreen last week if sarge is available on all models, or they bring back commando green for 2017. As long as neither of those happen, I'll be happy with my decision to go with the 2016.

" I love seeing each year's new colors!"

agree!

I was looking for Yellow, but it was Sept 2015 and 2016 orders were just about to open. I was going to wait for Hyper Green to become available, then we saw a HydroBlue and that was that. If I had the coin, i'd just buy a 2nd jeep in HyperGreen since I really like the color.

My wife loves the gecko green from a few years back (2012 or 2013).

Right now, the bright green color is very hot in fashion in sports type clothes (UnderArmor and the like). At least here in NJ, it's everywhere. WaltA is spot on with him point earlier in this tread about car colors and fashion colors following a common trend.

I was playing with a Build & Price 2016 Willys Wheeler W (JKU) on Jeep.com the other day (just for giggles) and it showed a "Flash Blue" instead of my Hydro Blue. Just a little darker, less Skittles-like. Kinda cool looking.

Now it's gone. Can't find it. Weird. Guess I'm losing my marbles... (Most folks would agree with THAT, at least!)

No, keep the 'boring' colors coming. Some of us prefer them. It matches our personalities maybe (I'm not boring, but I don't like to be outlandish because I think it's a sad plea for attention, but we'll stop the Freudian stuff there)

If I bought a Jeep for a weekend toy, sure, yellow with purple polkadots or whatever retina burning monstrosity that makes every person and their grandmother point would be great.

I don't want that in a Jeep that I drive everywhere every day.

I'm not a fan of green (despite owning a moss green pearl 97 TJ and I really did almost get sucked into a Sarge 75A), but Jeep has made about just as many shades of green recently as Grays/silvers. Do I want them to stop? Nope. Some people like them.

Hmmm... I was going to leave Freud out of this but... is it possible ol ' Sigmund might view a desire to drive a gray vehicle in today's drab society as a regression towards the womb while showing a yearning for safety? A desire similar to what a calf might feel? To be nurtured and warm amongst the herd? Similar to sheep seeking safety in the middle of the flock? Possibly a fear of standing on one's own? Afraid to be in the vanguard of anything even remotely resembling individuality? Interesting question... veeeery interesting.

Have you ever seen an old car with a terrible color? Yup factory color that simply went out of fashion. That's why they stick with colors that tend to stand the test of time. Get a boring color and accent it with a fun color that you can change with time.
