I'd find the time. You're going to need to learn how to put it up and down anyways.

It's simpler then driving your jeep. If you can't figure out how to put your top on you should probably just give up on life. Just sayin lol. Get in there and get dirty. Only way you ever learn.

The only difference between the first time and every other time is 4 bolts. These also need to be taken out to remove when putting the hard top back on. Better figure it out.

it's very simple. I figured it out just by trial and error. You can't mess it up. You shouldn't waste the 250 lol.

$80 an hour is a typical dealer labor rate so the quote is fair.

How valuable is your own time.
If you make minimum wage its a terrible deal.
If your a millionaire go for it.

Gotta be someone on here that would love lunch and a case of beer to come show you how. If your not going to die if it's not done today ask around. Never miss an opportunity to learn something about your Jeep. Otherwise what are you going to do take it to the stealership to have it lowered on sunny days?

If I were you I would try and figure it out myself... As long as you don't bend or tear anything your fine... 3 hours, sure, but do it yourself or have a friend come over and help (2 heads are better than 1) but it's YOUR Jeep and YOUR $$$ ...

It is also valuable "getting to know you" time for you and your Jeep.

It is your friend. Spend some quality time with it.

I'm pretty sure Bestop did a video about the sunrider top. Try YouTube. Also they usually have good, detailed instructions on their website. Good luck. If you can't figure it out throw it in the back of jeep and drive around until you see a jeep with a soft top. And ask them. Ha.

Jesus man.....DIY. Not rocket science. If you own a Jeep, you better know how to do a couple things yourself or you'll just be throwing money down the drain. There's 24 hours in a day...make time.

If you go back to the dealership and ask service to put it on, then $250 is going to be in the neighborhood of having a technician work on it. It is not too technical, but there is a thing with the back windows to get them to stay in without flapping. The first time everything goes on, it is a bit tight as well. I have had a sales guy on his own, go to the customers house to help put one on. Takes about an hour, going slow to explain everything, and if the salesman can make $75-$100 he's happy.

So it's not assembled, don't be scared. I put mine on today for the first time, had a friend come by took about 1 hour. Even if it takes 3-4 hours just more time for cocktails

I'm with everybody else. Do it yourself.

The Bestop video:

Bestop written instructions (.pdf):
http://www.bestop.com/installation_guides/51699.pdf

And working on your Jeep will be the only maintenance/repair time you'll have with a vehicle that you will actually enjoy.

I don't live far from Chicago. And I'll say that there ain't many clubs around here. I'd help you if I didnt have to waste the gas money. Look at this as a step towards becoming more mechanically inclined.
