Installing the 2 inch Mopar lift on my new 2 door wrangler next week. Ive read alot of the posts on this kit but cant seem to find the correct answers. I will be running 315/70/17 duratracs on Aev saltas.
Should i have the mechanic install the Aev geo correction brackets or just use the Cam bolts?
I see some people get a bigger bolt kit for their lifts do i need it for this lift?
Anything else to recommend?
Sorry for the newb questions just want to get it right the first time.
most here will say stay away from the cam bolts. i too have the mopar lift, had it installed at dealer, had them install the rancho drop brackets instead of cam bolts. in my opinion the rancho's are a beefier build than the aev geo brackets. but definitely use something other than the cam bolts.
I have an AEV 2.5" kit, and the night I installed it, the GCB's weren't in yet. The Jeep drove reasonably well, keep in mind, it wasn't aligned yet, the following day, the GCB's came in and I installed them that night. World of difference, handled like stock before alignment.
The GCB's work fantastic.
I can't say anything about the cam bolts 'cause I've never used them, but the GCB's make the Jeep drive fantastic
take a good look at the differences between the aev geo brackets and the rancho drop brackets. the aev is 2 piece that bolt together and doesn't look as strong as the rancho in my opinion
Don't use the supplied front brake line bracket extensions. Pry the OEM brackets off of the brake lines. The Mopar brackets will ht your shocks.
