Question 2dr hardtop summer storage

This weekend I'm finally going to swap tops for the summer, and I'm pretty damn excited about it! Should I have any concerns, or will I have any issues with standing it upright (not on the rear window side obviously). It will likely be in this position until early/mid November. Oh and it will be in a weatherproof garage. No winch this year, maybe next. Thanks in advance guys!!!

I was told that for the 2 door, it is fine BUT I would advise against it, that thing weighs a ton ! I personally store it horizontally and have a enjoy a worry free summer

That's a great deal of weight on the thin plastic lips that go under the t-tops. If you were to pad the floor enough it would probably be fine...but

Check out something like this

Quadratec Exclusive JW-JK-HTC - Deluxe Heavy Duty Hardtop Storage Cart for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

You could build your own to save some $$. Especially if you don't need it to roll. Some 2x4s and some pipe insulation or pool noodles from the dollar store .

JP you're readin' my mind buddy...I was already thinking of the 2X4's...and the noodles are BRILLIANT...I'll probably even add more cushion of some sort. I'm thinking that will be pretty safe for it. Noodles....good thinkin! Love the Wrangler Forum!!

For three years now I stored mine with two-2/4s on the ground in the back yard. A good wash down in the fall and re-install paying close attention to the seal between the top and tub being sure it is clean and no leaks. The top looks clean inside.

I do like the idea of the pipe insulation or noodle on the edge below the windows.

The bestop HOSS storage rack (same as MOPAR) is the only way to go. Makes removal and installation much easier and doesn't take up much space with the top stored on it.
