303 Fabric Guard Question

Hello all. I've taken the advice of others on the forum and decided to 303 my seats and rollbar covers. I got my 303 a couple of days ago and read the bottle which tells you to protect other surfaces from overspray, wipe up immediately, etc. So I decided I'd remove the rollbar covers/seats and spray them outside of the Jeep. When I went to take off the rollbar covers I found that I was going to have to take a lot of the trim off as well.

That’s definitely going to increase the effort I have to put into the job. I work 60hrs/wk and have a demanding wife and two kids so time’s a premium for me (if it takes a full day to do, I’ll never get it done). I wanted to know how others have waterproofed their rigs. Did you remove everything and spray it outside? Did you spray it inside? If so, what did you do to protect the other surfaces? How bad is it to get overspray on your dash, paint, etc? Any other issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What about various sized pieces of bent cardboard to hold on the opposite side of the bar you are spraying? Maybe affix a thin shop towel to the cardboard so the spray doesn't build up and drip off too easy.

Are you using this on the soft top?

Yeah, I was thinking about shrink wrapping / tarping the console, painted surfaces, windshield, etc. I'm just wondering if I need to do all that, or if the 303 is benign enough to just wipe up the overspray. I just don’t want to end up with stains all over the Jeep (I’ve only got ~3000 miles on it so I’m still babying it ).

I just covered areas like the dash with a towel. In areas like the center console I just wiped it off before it dried. I had a good bit of overspray and haven't noticed any weird shine or anything. I basically tried to get the majority wiped off. It's not going to melt the plastic or anything. You might want to test it on a similar type of plastic to see what the worst case is?

I'm not sure how long it last, but I imaging its a good idea to reapply annually. I'm guessing its effects diminish over time.

Thanks Rooster, that's what I was trying to find out. I'll spray it tomorrow then and see what happens. I just went wheeling today and was afraid to stomp on it in the mud because the top was off and I didn't want to get the interior muddy. Never again!
Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.
