Thumbs up 303 Fabric Guard - Waterproof and UV Protect Seats & Roll Bar Cover

I bedlined my tub (U-Pol Raptor Bed Liner in tub - Shots - Notes - Reference Threads), but the seats and roll bar cover left me not wanting to get my Jeep muddy. I applied 303 fabric guard 2 weeks ago to the seats, roll bar covers, and seat belts. Now I'm not afraid to give it hell with the windows out. I wonder how long it will last.

HOW MUCH YOU NEED
I got it at a boat store. 16oz with me putting it on thick was not quite enough for me to do just the front seats (not the back seat), roll bars, and belts. If your going to do this yourself I would at least get the 32oz size. It does sort of stink for a few days.

When trying to find a good product I also ran across "Scotchgard Outdoor Water Shield." You can get that at Wal-Mart. I don't think that it protects fabric from fadeing, so I went with the 303.

Nice! I think I'm going to try this out. I have always heard good things about 303...hopefully this will keep my roll bar pads from turning purple like they did in my TJ

I wonder what would happen if you sprayed this on the soft tops?

Spraying the soft-top

I wouldn't put it on the soft top. I checked there web site and it doesn't mention vinyl (that's what there made of right?) . 303® Fabric Guard 32oz - Fabric Guard . I did find some videos after I shot mine on youTube. They are sprayed on FABRIC soft tops. The first one is after a year which is reassuring that it will be worth the $35 or so that I paid for it.

The KJ softtop is fabric (sail cloth), not vinyl. You should be fine, but don't take my word for it. I'd test it on an inconspicuous spot before applying it to the whole thing.

I called bestop and they said they did not have a recomendation for maintaining the new premium tops yet, but said the material was acrylic (like sumbrella's). I called the 303 customer service and they said to use the vinyl protectant on acrylic tops, not the cloth protectant (the produce both). So I'm going to get the 303 vinyl protectant for my top.

So how well has this stuff held up? Any adverse effects? I picked up a 2012 JKU recently and I've been anxious to take it out anywhere with the top off because the seats and carpet still look so nice. I see a lot of threads about using this on seats, but has anyone sprayed down the carpet?
