33's on rubicon wheels with a 2 inch lift?

Does anyone know if you can run a 33" tire on a stock rubicon wheel with a 2 inch lift? MW3 edition wheel or will it need a spacer? If so what size?

Spacers bud.

Not the height/dia. A 33" is going to be wider. Look into SpiderTrax spacers.
Teraflex and Synergy make them also.

Don't cheap out when buying spacers

Is it safe to run spacers or easier to just get after market wheels with proper backspacing?

Yes it is safe to run spacers. Spidertrax makes the 1.5" spacers and they are very popular. However, most Jeeppers sell the stock wheels/tires and get smaller wheels with better backspacing (4.5" or more ) and bigger tires to mount on them. You do have to re-check and make sure your spacers are properly torqued every so often but you'll have to do this with many other mods so it's really no biggie in the long run. The cost savings of buying new wheels/tires vs buying spacers and paying more for tires that could even potentially weigh more by staying with the stock wheels out weigh the positives.

People have different opinions on them.
You have to locktite and torque the bolts to spec. More importantly- keep an eye on them and retorque if necessary.

But YES!! Of coarse you are better off with new wheels. Step down to a lighter alloy 15" and those new tires will cost less too

Good luck.

I know you mean 4.5" or less, but just thought we should clarify for the OP.
