3M Double-sided tape HELP!!!

Should have read the directions...doooh!

After detailing my JK for 4 hours (giving it a good buff to get the swirls out from the dealer and a good carnuba wax after having her for a month) I slapped the Bushwacker Trail Armor Bug Deflector on the hood and went crusing in my BFG JK on St Patty's day

Unfortunately having not read the directions, I did not realize the 3M tape takes almost 24 hours to completely cure. The entire piece seems to have moved forward about an inch and is no longer even

At this point I'm ok with moving it or removing it. Anyone got experience with the 3M tape products? I'm hoping with some time applying a heat gun I might be able to push it back where it needs to be & hold it in place with some vice grips to set again overnight.

If that doesn't work, what's the most hastle free way to remove with out damaging paint? Apply heat & pull? Use 3M adheisive remover & pull? WD40? It's only been on less than 72 hours so I'm hoping with some heat it will be somewhat pliable.

Our Purchasing Department won’t let me even say “3M” in the building because their awesome adhesives are so pricy, so it’s been a while since I called them, but I just love that company. Especially their awesome customer service. Give them a try. Can't hurt.

If you do take it off and want to remove the glue, go to your local drug store and they will have a product called Remove or something similar.

It's used to take the glue left behind from a band-aid on your skin. I have used it before on my vehicle. Just make sure you don't go over board with it, and wipe with soap and water right after.

The 3M product BW uses is intended to be a single use. That said you might get lucky if you use a heat gun to help reposition. Any residue can be remove with 3M adhesive remover. It will not hurt the paint.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, I don't mind the single use part...it was my neglegence so I'll pony up for some more if I need to completely remove.
