Im having a very hard time locating an unlimited rubicon automatic with the 4.10 gear ratio listed on the sticker. Does anybody know if they no longer list that as an option with the automatic, or if dealers are just idiots and fail to order this option? I plan to go to 35's and armor, so this is a must have for me. Please be factual, i can speculate with the best, and salespeople are useless.
Its a $495 option when you also have the auto trans. I am sure if the vehicle had it, it would be listed on the window sticker. They aren't going to "accidentally" forget about charging the buyer that $495.
I saw the same thing, but it does not mention anything about a 3.73 option. I would call the dealer (Ha, on second thought...) and ask. They probably wont know what you are talking about, since they rarely know anything about cars in general. Or email chrysler group. I heard a rumor that they discontinued the 3.73 for the Rubi in 2013, but that doesnt make any sense for the 5 sp auto. There is no way the 5 sp auto would get the same MPG as the 6 sp Manual in 4:10's.
I know around here you will not find a Jeep with 4.10 gears unless it was ordered by someone. Dealers typically order the 3.21's. I have no idea why but that is how it is.
I wouldn't trust the website, as it is known to have errors from time to time.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't trust most salespeople either. But, best bet is to call up a dealer. Speak with an internet manager or someone who can set up an order. He'll be able to see what the actual options are. Your plane Jane salesperson won't know and would have to ask a manager to check.
I don't know if the 4.10 is standard on the Rubicon. It wasn't before and I had to order mine with 4.10's because absolutely no one in my area had one. And there are over a dozen or so CJD dealers in my area.
BTW, Pat's pricing info at the top states "4.10 Rear Axle Ratio $295($263) Standard on manual trans, optional on auto trans". It could have changed and he hasn't updated it. Actually, send Pat a PM instead of calling a dealer. He should know if it's still an option or standard now.
A Rubi with the automatic comes with 3.73 as standard. The 4.10's are an option and will show on the sticker. If it's not listed as an option on the sticker it doesn't have 4.10's. It was that way on the 2012 Rubi JK I used to have and it's that way on my new 2014 JKURX. My local dealer probably had 35 JK and JKU's on the lot and only 2 had 4.10's with the auto. They had to trade a dealer in Texas to get me what I wanted. Life's too short to settle for less that you want.
