4.10 hardware with 3.73 software...

Just wondering.... what if you had a 4.10 rear end but 3.73 software was accidentally loaded, how would the tranny react?

Anyone ever experience this or have any idea of what it would feel like?

It will change the shift points slightly and throw off the speedometer and odometer slightly

My jeep came with 3.73s and programmed for 3.21s. Shift points were the big deal, drove 10 times better after I reprogrammed. Speedo and mpg gauge were off. I was getting 21mpg on 37s LOL

In your case, did it shift earlier or later? A lot of gear hunting?

for some reason my jeep came brand new off the dealership floor with a hypertech programmer just chilling in the glove box. I thought it had 3.21's so I left the gearing page at "STOCK" when I got bigger tires and upped the tire size in the system. one day I got bored and requested my build sheet, turns out I had 3.73's. it had no towing package or anything. guess I got lucky.
