4 Door Build begins

I have been lurking in the shadows and finally signed up to the forum today. I have read a good amount of usefull information on here and have enjoyed following some of the threads.

I purchased a 2010 new apx a year ago and I have finally had the time to start to get some work done on it. It has been at the shop for a couple of days and I get to pick it up tomorrow. I just installed a new garvin Expedition rack, and now I am doing a lift with shocks and dual steering stabilizers, new tires, wheels and fenders. The jeep will be complete tomorrow so I will post some new pics this weekend of the job.

Thanks for all the helpfull info I have read on here. I am planning on looking at bumpers now and looking to build or buy a trailer I can paint to match and have a tent installed on top.

Here is the final pic of my stock jeep, or what it looked like yesturday.

I picked up my jeep and headed out to cast a fly and catch a few trout. I took a few pics before launching the kayak.

The changes so far are:

Garvin Wilderness rack w/ ladder
2.5 Rock Krawler lift
Bushwacker flares painted
RK Dual Steering stabilizers
Procomp wheels
Duratrac 33" tires
Bilstein shocks

Welcome to the forum! Great looking mods!
Bumpers are also on my short list of 'next ups' ... Still researching, but my neighbor who works in a fab shop told me that one of his close friends just started working there who has fabricated bumpers for a number of vehicles including Jeep, so I'm going to ask what a fab'ed bumper pair might cost as well - for my taste, the mil-spec bumpers were the only ones I really liked, but need to save a few nickels for them (the front costs $1,100 alone).

Thank You all for the welcome and the positive comments!
I have to say I love the ride. The lift and tires sure smoothed out the bumps in the road. So many of the off road tires I have had in the past have been very noisy and these are a pleasure to drive with. The rack being all the way out to the back makes it real easy loading and unloading a boat without hitting the truck.

Time to look for bumpers.

TroutSafari: Here's the bumper I've had an eye on -
AEV 10305055AA - AEV Front Premium Bumper in Black for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Also, how would that cargo rack work with a soft top (or would it) ?

trenn that is a sweet looking bumper. I would like to see one up close.
I tend to like things without to many parts and bolts, if I could find what I am looking for in a one piece welded unit I would prefer that.

I think the rack would work fine with my soft top also. It does not touch the roof in any way, just the body panels.
