430N Navigation Question

Does anyone know if the Funtreks data card for the Wells books will work with the UConnect 430N in my 2014 Rubicon with the pretty nav touch screen? UConnect's website says they "partnered with Garmin" and Funtreks says the card will work with all Garmin units - not sure what that means whether it is a true Garmin system. Is anyone running it? Lunatic has it, but his nav system is a standalone.

It appears to come on a micro-sd with adapter. I dont think the Jeep has an SD slot? I know it has a USB slot and hard drive. I am not computer expert lol but wonder if I could copy it to a USB on a computer then load from the USB? Any computer types know? The card is really cool-it has all the offroad trails on it!

This:

FunTreks Guidebooks for Jeep Trails, 4 Wheel Drive Trails, and back country roads - FunTreks Guidebooks for Jeep Trails, 4 Wheel Drive Trails, and back country roads

It grew up!

Didn't you know JKU's are known for losing two doors and fading from bright red to dark grey right around their one year birthday?

StarBrite is correct! I started pricing out my build and once I ran into contemplating switching out the front D30, it got all kinds of expensive. It was cheaper to trade it in and upgrade to a Rubicon! I also lost two doors in the process lol!

Most Garmin GPS devices have a micro-sd slot. From there, Garmin will automatically load in new maps, PIO, vehicles, waypoints, and some other cool stuff. It seems like what you are interested in, is a custom micro-sd card with waypoints and maps that match up with their books.

Unfortunately, the 430N doesn't have such a micro-sd slot, and the USB port(s) can't be substituted for such.

BTW, a lot of people here would be jumping for joy, if they could update their 430N maps by simply slipping in a new Garmin map micro-sd card (cost around $30 on eBay).

And after having used the Lockers, that envy was definitely not misplaced! That is one awesome piece of mechanicals there!

That well sucks. Go Jeep. I would get far more use out of the nav offroad than on the way to the grocery store lol. My phone gives me on pavement turn by turn.

Hey MMC!

If you have an iPhone or iPad, check out MotionX GPS and the downloadable trails on trail damage.com.
