4wd indicator light

My 2012 Unlimited Sahara's 4WD light comes on at random pretty much all the time. When I'm engaged in 4WD it stays on like it's supposed to, but in 2WD it occasionally pops on. I try to move the stick around so it'll turn off and it just flickers back and forth between on and off.

Possibly related, my check engine light came on recently and I'm wondering if those two are somehow connected.

Problem just with the dashboard or could it maybe be more?

I've got just over 15k miles on it. I'm pretty busy with work and it's my daily driver so I'd like to avoid taking it in until I absolutely have to.

There is a switch on the transfer case so when you are in 4WD the light illuminates.
maybe its faulty.

Regarding the CEL, get you Jeep scanned for codes and let us know what they are.
