4x4 light on dash. ?

I can't get the 2x4 light to come on? Just has 4x4 light on. Check to make sure it is in 2x4 and it is. Is the switch adjustable? Where is it?

on my 12 there is only a 4x4 and a 4x4 low light. No light for 4x2. The 4x4 light should go off when in 4x2.

2wd is for normal driving so there is no light.

On my 07 I don't have a light for 4x2 most vehicles don't have that cause it's the mode used for normal driving, I pull in 4x4's to our shop all the time and the one I can think of that might have it is the Chrysler aspen

Shift into 4H, then back into 2H. Maybe it just didn't disengage all the way.

It's really tough to help when the question isn't clear.

There is no "2x4 light". Are you saying the 4x4 light is staying on even when you shift out of 4x4? Are you sure you're out? You may have broken the bushing on the TC case cable leaving you in 4x4 even though the lever looks like it's in 2wd.

The light will not go off when in 2x4.Transfer case is shifting from 2x4 to 4x4 ok and back to 2x4, but the light is not going out?

I would think that their is a cam that will push the switch to the off position when shifted in to 2x4. Turning the light off?

There is a vacuum switch on top of the transfer case, it needs to be replaced, that's all.

"vacuum switch " I would never have thought it would be a vacuum switch. Do you know what else the vacuum line does?

Something I did not say was it is a 6 speed manual. sorry.

I'm pretty sure there's no vacuum switch on a JK.

Well he said it did go into 2wd because he did a "burnout" and 4wd because it just took off. So just take the bulb out and save some amps. My light never worked anyways I don't mind.

My guess is, the switch that activates the 4x4 light is hung up/stuck. I think that if you find the location of the switch, you'll find the problem.

Hold the bus. What kind of Jeep do you have? I assumed it was a JK because this is the JK section, but your profile only lists a M151.

Yes, my fault on the vacuum switch, that is on my TJ, the JK uses a resistance switch.
Sorry... but my guess this is the problem, or a loose wire. It is still on top of the transfer case.
