500 bucks in dealer parts and accessories?

If you buy a new 2011 wrangler you get 500 toward dealer parts. My question is what would you guys get? I really would like to use up as most as I can in GOOD parts and not wast it on something I might replace later. I already got the grip handles and the mirror relocate that I paid with my own money. Thinking about rock rails?

thanks
D

You can buy used Rubicon rails all day long for less then what the dealer wants.

Check out the same question in another thread just in the past couple of days. There are lots of good suggestions already posted.

My suggestion would be to take your time and decide exactly want you want in order to get the most bang for your buck. Moose doesn't actually make any of those accessories. They are made by other companies then rebadged and marked up.

Exactly like the mirrors location for the doors are made by rugged ridge. My only concern is I don't want to get something that is easily broken or that I might want to replace later.

Example being. Are their front bumpers any good? or their rock rails? etc.

I've never heard of a quality issue. If you like the look of their bumpers or rock rails then go for it. Those are exclusive.

The bumpers are made by Crown Automotive [they make a ton of replacement and restoration parts for all generations of Jeep].

When we got my wife her unlimited we too got $500 mopar bucks to spend. We got the sahara style steps and door entry guards for hers and for my 2dr. If you decide you want the steps we have taken hers off and am lookin' to sell (cheap) and have put a set of rubi rails on.

I'd definitely suggest the door entry guards and maybe the slush mats

I am a salesman for a Jeep dealership. The $500 worth of Mopar bucks is for all new 2011 Wranglers (both 2 door and Unlimited).

However, 2 things to consider:
1. This is a manufacturer sponsored rebate for the month of April. As of Monday, it may be over. We as dealers have no control over this and don't know what specials will be on for May.
2. Those items will still be taxed. So, if you spend all $500, you will have to pay the tax out of pocket. I know it doesn't seem fair, but must be done that way for legal purposes.

While looking through the magzine I have.. still don't know what I want. I would get the seat covers if they were covered the head rest to and came in black.

The rock rails that I've seen don't offer that much protection vs other. True?

I'll probably get the entry guards

The factory rubi rails actually do a decent job protecting the sides. I've had my 2dr resting on a rock on the rails with no damage and I've slowly slid sideways into a tree and the rail kept me out of it. Just gotta watch for the mirrors though.

The rock rails come standard on the rubis? How do the side steps compare to the rock rails? Heard the side steps are made of plastic?

Yes, rails are standard on Rubi's, they do offer much more protection than nothing. Ours are beat to heck from rocks, trees, etc, that would have put some good dents in the rockers if we didn't have the rails. The steps are plastic, and will keep road junk off the sides and put it on your pants legs when you get in/out. But they do offer something to step on if you need help getting in/out. They won't hold up to much offroading, if you tend to go over stuff that is hard. If you just drive down dirt roads they should be fine.

I received some sort of promise note from my dealer regarding the mopar bucks. Said chrysler sends me a certificate to use at any dealer and can take up to three weeks. Does this sound right? With this having to be used 30 days after delivery it doesnt seem correct.

Purchased 2011 sahara unlimited 2 weeks ago

totally agree with infernogirl. The steps are great for keeping stuff off the sides but also great for getting stuff on your pants when you get in. Thats why she wanted hers off her jku and now have the rubi rails.

We had to use them that day but it may be different now. Don't be afraid to ask your dealership to clarify.
