I got a 2016 Hard Rock Rubicon that i purchased Max care 7 year warranty on.
So i am thinking of getting 2.5 or 3.5 lift with 35's and fuel rims but if i lift i was told i void the warranty.
What are some recommendations as i am not sure WTH to do now.
1)cancel warranty
2) get lift and not worry
3) tell me what you all think
I was getting quotes on lifts, tires and wheels and i thought i read before that there was limits on the warranty and it could be voided if you lift it more than 2in and if you didnt do it thru the dealer.
I have heard there are lift friendly dealers but there are some pain in ass ones also that will say oh this is broken because of your lift and they will void your warranty.
Since there is so much unknown i figured i would check in here
Call around and find a dealer that does not immediately "void" your warranty with the lift and 35" tires. You don't have to have warranty repairs done by the dealer where you purchased your Jeep/warranty.
I can understand the dealer not covering some components that would be covered on a stock wrangler due to the wear and tear of the lift, but there are many things that the lift/tires will have no effect on.
The warranty issue was a major part of my decision to go with the Mopar 2.5, and have the dealer install it. They advised that it is covered under the factory warranty at any dealer across the nation. If I choose the 4", they would be the only dealer that would cover it. Dealer was very supportive of me adding the lift and 33's. They were not concerned about 35's before I made my final choice and never made any reference that 35's would void warrant.
I have have a buddy with the long warranty they've covered him on non lift related items such as engine work etc. Though I'm willing to bet if there's any kind of axle work they will blame the tires and void if they can since those tires are not factory. Hopefully your dealer will honor their work though.
I like the lift that I have. It easily gets me where I want to go off-road and I think it rides just as well and is a little smoother than the stock suspension on road. if I had it to do over, I wouldn't change a thing except purchase flat fender flares for the 35's earlier. I have the flat flares coming.
