A beautiful sight

I had to run up to baltimore today and came across a beautiful and unexpected sight near the ports.

In the first pic I caught the tail end of a couple hundred brand new JK's and the second pic is couple hundred Grand Cherokees with another couple rows of JK's in the middle. All brand new from factory waiting to be sent to dealers. I tried to get a better pic when I passed by it again on my way out of Bmore but the pic didn't turn out any better.

I bet more than a few of these JK's belong to some of the people on this forum.

That lot is full of Chrysler vehicles on any given day and there is no access from the Harbor Tunnel Thruway which is where that was obviously taken from.

Correct on the harbor tunnel freeway. I tried to get a pic on the way back but my timing was off as I'm not very familiar with that area.

I was amazed at how many vehicles were in there.

I had to shoot a bunch of trucks doing that to cars once, at an event called Eve of Destruction. I was shooting w/a wideangle lens, so I got pretty close to the action. All of a sudden one of the trucks gunned it and crushed a couple cars, and bounced so high in the air he kinda lost control for a second...I had to haul ass for my life.

Wish they'd been Jeeps, though.

In Toledo they use to store the Jeeps all kinds of places. One was in an abandoned mall that was right across the street from my apartment (about 4 years ago). For a long time they had the parking lot of the old Jeep plant filled with them but they started moving them to other locations. At anytime there was hundreds to thousands of Liberty's and Wranglers out there. Looked just like that pic above.

Even though that is right next to the harbor, they are actually coming from the nearby rail yard and being staged there. I always see them there, but have never seen any actually coming or leaving, weird.

Give a yell next time you pass through!

Will do man.

I didn't see any moving either time I went by, but did notice all the rail cars right next to the lot. It was crazy to see that many brand new Jeeps just sitting there. I've never seen anywhere near that many before

I was wondering if they were staging for shipment from AMPORTS for overseas delivery? I know Baltimore is a huge car shipping port. Would you know, Tom?

That's interesting. I had never considered that. Next time I will try to catch a glimpse of a front JK bumper. That would be a tell tale sign. There is another huge lot of new cars in Jessup. I aways see trucks being loaded with the cars and the trains delivering them. I've never seen any Chrysler products there however.

You mean crab cakes or crab soup. MD is hardly known for shrimp bisque.

Ahem......"shrimp bisque"? Around here it's Maryland crab soup. We don't eat no stinking shrimp

Ok, Ok crab soup then. When I worked in Bmore years ago there was a place that made a crab/shrimp/seafood something or other that the first bite was hotter then Hell and after that was delicous.

I passed by there the other day. Confused me to no end to see that many jeeps! Kinda just assumed it was a rail yard, but the overseas shipment is interesting..

Maybe we should storm it to get a CRD!
