A couple newb questions

I am new to the Jeep Wrangler, and also new to a manual transmission all together so I dont know what to hear and feel for when it comes to the transmission.

One thing I notice is sometimes when I shift into 2nd or 3rd gear, as im releasing the clutch I hear a distinct "clink" noise (not overly loud). Ive been told by a couple people that this sound is normal and it might just be my technique as I am completely new to the clutch. Any input would be great!

Also: Is the Jeep wave usually exclusive to Wranglers? I've been getting it often from Wrangler drivers, but only here and there with other Jeepers.

I hadn't been the one initiating the wave, I'm usually too busy concentrating on driving right now. Good to know though!

There's nothing I can think of in particular that you're describing. I'd just get used to it for awhile, see if it stays with you or if your technique eventually develops so as to make it go away.

This varies a bit. It's with all Wranglers. Some folks--including myself--will also wave to modded versions of other jeeps.

Whatever the case, just be aware that here at WF all threads on "the jeep wave" are closed and redirected to our gigantic official wave thread (here). Otherwise, we'd have a bunch of wave threads in every section every day.
