A drunk turned my 4 door into a 2 door

So I was traveling on the highway and I got rear ended by a drunk driver going close to 100 mph. My jeep went off the road and flipped. I came out of it with fractures to my neck and back.

While it sucked and I'm in quite a bit of pain, that roll bar saved my life. Thanks to it I'm in a neck brace instead of a wheel chair.

I think the Jeep would have come out of it better except the car that hit me was an Expedition. I can't imagine what the result would have been if I was in my wife's sedan.

Time to start all over again.

Damn - sorry to hear about the accident. Glad to hear you came out of it relatively intact though.

Hope you get better soon.

Good news that you're OK. You were lucky you were in a 4-door unlimited and not a 2-door.

Hoping for a very speedy recovery. Now I'm even more glad I bought a Jeep. I hope that drunk is in jail.

Ouch! I Hope everything turns out ok. Hopefully the guy had insurance & went to jail. It looks like it could have been even worse, at least nobody was sitting in the back seat.

Bloody hell, that sucks! Glad you lived to tell about it, and remember-narcotics are your best friend right now. Here's to hoping your injuries are just temporary...
best regards

Those drunks come out of no where. I was hit by a drunk this past Black Friday. I flipped 2 or 3 times. Totaled my 2013 I had for maybe 3 months. She did a pit maneuver on me. She was in a dodge caliber I got multiple skull fractures, and blood clot in my brain. All is healed but permanent dent in my skull. So I definitely know first hand how amazing that roll bar is! I hope you have a quick recovery!

Let me guess ... the drunk was fine?

I was T-Boned in an intersection, no rollover, back in the day in a Nissan 200SX. Impacted just behind my door and ripped the back off. Drunk just had split lip .

oh my, so glad you are relatively "ok" ... hope your recovery goes quickly. Just one more reason to love our Jeeps.

The words I have regarding the drunk driver are not family-friendly, so I'll just zip the lip.

That terrifies me. Thank God there were no kids were in the back seat. I hate recklessness like that, including texting while driving. A single act can cause so much consequence.

I am glad to hear you are ok. It is refreshing to see the sturdiness of the Jeep. I just bought mine, it is my first. My thoughts and best wishes are with you. You needed an excuse to order a 10th Anniversary Rubi anyhow, right??

I never drink and drive and even ditched having a cell so no txt'ing distracted driving either for me... I wish I could record all the idiot distracted drivers and show them exactly how bad they do drive! I'll stop now before I start cursing but glad to know that the OP is ok...

Ouch! I hope your recovery is swift and complete.

And, enjoy your new Jeep! Are you going to wait for 2014s? Don't forget to salvage your mods, like those KC lights.

Absolutely!

Very glad to hear you did far better than just barely lived through it. Amazing pictures. Gas mileage be dammed....mass is a good thing when being struck by anything else.

One of the things I always want to know when considering a vehicle is how much does what I'm looking at weigh? Generally speaking the most weight I can buy for my money is a primary goal. When I see pictures like this is further reinforces that thought pattern. The Jeep was more of a lifestyle choice as there are certainly heavier options, but maybe the heaviest when it comes to a convertible option? For sure not going to catch me in a convertible minI I can tell you that much.
