Currently trying to get the stock steering stabilizer clamp off of the stock tie rod... having a hell of a time. I think maybe I have to buy a new clamp...

Anywho, here is a comparison to my stock (bent) tie rod:

Done! My husband bent the clamp to get it off and bent it back, so we slapped it back on.

Strange, seeing a straight tie rod there now, haha! Love putting shiny new parts on the Jeep and watching them get all dirt and grimy again!

Thanks! There's about to be more green. Just placed an order with Wet Okole for some lime green seat covers! (Half piping option)

Looking at 3 weeks time to receive them.

Smittybilt GEAR thing. I've got all my medical, little survival bits and pieces, tools, and recovery gear back there. Sweet solution to having limited storage, especially running the spare in the back of the Jeep. We've got a ton a MOLLE stuff laying around the house so it'll probably be swapped around a few times.

It was a PITA to install but in the end I am happy with it. For now. lol

Looks great. Have to admit I'm surprised you didn't figure out a custom one from the guy on eBay, and back it with your favorite green!

I considered it! Lime green would have clashed with my ACU patterned pouches though... haha

I absolutely love owning a jeep, and we have a blast working on them!

TJG,

I hope your husband appreciates you and calls you, in weak moments, a perfect wife.

If you love to camp for an entire weekend, drink beer from the can, consider Doritos and salsa a nutritious dinner, and don't mind cigar smoke, then you most certainly are a perfect wife.

Thanks guys, haha. I don't think my husband has ever called me the perfect wife, but he knows I'm a catch!

I hear a lot of guys mention that their wives just aren't into it. I say, loan her the jeep on a fair weather day and have her take all her girlfriends out for mani pedis and cruising town with the top down. After the first few whistles she'll get it! jeeps are all about FUN!

TexasJeepGirl; That's a great molle rig for your gate. I think I'm going to try something similar out...after I install my cb.

Definitely after the CB install if you are running the antenna of the tailgate. after a few days of use still satisfied with it. Will be testing on the trail this weekend at Rock Trails of Tolar.

I'm probably going to use their overhead rig to mount my cb to as well. I've been searching for real estate in the cab to put a Galaxy 949. It's huge!

TJG, why is it that your rig has the stinger bar and your husband's does not? Are you the more aggressive driver? Or do you just consider it to be another frill and fillip like earrings and hairpieces?

[ducking to avoid all the barbs and arrows and epithets, from being called a sexist -- OK, I'm an old-fashioned guy]

Wow, I don't even know how to approach that!

I've got more stuff on my Jeep because he is waiting until he returns from Afghanistan (deploying soon) to put money into his. I just happened to come into a little cash from various things and put it in my Jeep before he did.

Tom H...There are many women who do not stay home barefoot and pregnant anymore. Some actually fight for our freedom...TexasJeepGirl is one of them! Who gives two shits if she has more mods than her husband, that is also fighting for our freedom. I don't know how she refrained from cussing you out above. ^^^ Thanks TexasJeepGirl for this thread and your sacrifice and service! Keep building and keep sharing! God Bless you and your husband!

Just trying to be funny ... and find out whether she considers herself a more aggressive driver than her husband ... mellow out, I wouldn't have made the parenthetical comment if I was serious. Had she said that she might have to use that stinger someday, I was going to ask which trails. Sheesh.

Look, this is a heavily tongue-in-cheek thread and everyone is asking about mods. It certainly was not out of line to ask whether the stinger was for extensive use. You really have no right to impute anything about my beliefs or politics based on that post. Just ask directly rather than criticizing.

And TJG, if I offended you, accept my apologies. I was trying to keep the thread alive with a bit of humor.

To answer your question, I've come close to needing it a couple of times. I'm a meticulous driver and pick my lines carefully but we do get in some heavy wheeling. So yes, it's there to be used, not primarily just to look good.

Well, it appears I did a little carnage on the Jeep. Bashed my crossmember pretty damn good right by where the transfer case mounts. I have a weird, light grinding sensation in the Jeep that is kind of hard to detect but definitely there, at random, and we think I may have some stuff slightly out of alignment now. Everything else looks good under the Jeep... so it looks like an upgraded crossmember is getting ordered tomorrow to see if that corrects the light grinding/vibey sensation.

Poison Spyder piece #5 for the Jeep, haha!
