About to buy my first jeep...suggestions needed!

Hey Everyone!

I will be buying my first wrangler as soon as I figure out exactly which one I want. Right now, I am stuck between two. A new 2013 true blue unlimited sahara, and a new 2014 white unlimited sport. While the sahara is more expensive, since it didn't sell and is a 2013 I think I can get a better deal. Basically I am deciding between the white and the true blue pearl coat, so if you have any suggestions between these colors I would appreciate it! I am also deciding if it is worth it to spend a little more on a sahara for upgrades like the heated seats, remote start, navigation, and soft top included, etc that are not included with the new 2014 sport unlimited. Do these really make a difference for you? Even though the 2013 is older, I think they would come out to around the same price, or the sahara a little more. Sorry if this is a little confusing, let me know if I can clarify anything.

Thanks!

Well I love the creature comforts in my Rubicon almost as much as my wife LOL.

I think you will be happy either way but ask yourself how much off roading you'll do vs. just enjoying a Jeep.

Uhm... get the rubicon If your more into DD then the Sahara would be better because of the creature comforts. You can't go wrong with either one, they are both JEEPS

Fwiw, I'm not a fan of white Jeeps, esp unlimiteds...looks too sterile to me.

I have a Sport and didn't like the "fu-fu ness" of the Sahara. But to each their own. Not much use for heated seats here in PHoenix lol! I do sorta wish I had gotten the soft top though.

I personally would not get the Sahara because none of the differences other than soft top would mean anything to me. And the body color fender thing isn't for me. And I wouldn't pick white or blue but that's just me. BUt your mileage may vary. Let us know what you decide as it would be YOUR Jeep!

I live in NY now and plan to relocate to Arizona eventually, so I was thinking a lighter color would be better. The price of the sport, if it comes out to be cheaper may have to be it since I just finished school and want to save as much as possible!

I love my Sahara and its ummm..."fu-fu-ness"...even though I'm not sure what that means.

But honestly, no one can decide how much the upgrades are worth to you except you. Just get which one you like the best and enjoy.

I would be more concerned about axle ratio, connectivity, and LSD over the other stuff that could be added later if need be.

Have the dealer put them side by side for you, then close your eyes. Forget all the rationalizing you've done, forget all the pros and cons of either model and clear your head of everything. Then simply open your eyes and listen closely to see which one speaks to you. That's when you'll know....

I big on "Fu-Fu-ness" myself. Love my sahara and all the other little things that come with it. There will always be white jeeps but some colors never come back, Like my CG.

As for making up your mind, that's easy. Just flip a coin, and when the coin is in the air, your inner self will let you know which one you are actually hoping for.

You would also really really like to have a soft top.

I went for the sahara when I bought mine because it had two extras that weren't avaliable on the Sport, one was the shocks and the other was the 110 outlet on the center console. If I were buying new, I would make sure to get the dual top option, I hate how it is so much of a pain to take off my hard top.

I have a true blue, and it is a BEAUTIFUL color... assuming you are going to be diligent with keeping it clean. In the winter, my Jeep is basically grey/white. It looks nasty... but when I get it clean, it is just lovely. I have heard that white looks cleaner even when dirty. But, I feel like white is too plain. My dad and I talked about painting a white jeep with a pearl coat if I decided to buy one.

I love my heated seats and my remote start... but, I bought the higher end models for those creature comforts. I much prefer to get into a warm car in the winter. I could probably go without the heated seats, but I definitely don't complain about them.

I like the navigation, but I don't use it often. Many times if I am going to some place different, I have a passenger navigating... but, it has gotten me to any destination I set it to. If I were purchasing again, I might second guess this option and possibly remove it and just use my phone again... especially since I don't use the Sirius radio or storage capabilities.

I didn't have a garage space when I bought the Jeep, and I won't know when I will consistently have a long term storage solution, so I only have the soft top. The soft top is nice, but a lot of heat can escape. I've had a rental sedan recently, and I feel like I'm cooking at 70 degrees, meanwhile in my Jeep, 78 doesn't seem to keep me warm. I also can't or won't keep anything valuable in my Jeep overnight, since it is very easy to get inside a soft top Jeep. I've ridden in Jeeps with soft tops and with the Freedom Panels in summer/spring, and I much prefer the soft top. I think you get more air flow and more sunshine. Also, you can take the windows out in the back and not have a giant parachute like with the hard top. I also don't have to pick between leaving freedom panels behind and testing my weather luck, or losing possible cargo space and bringing the panels with me.

Jeeps look bad in white! The thing that is a real pain with the sport is manual windows and door locks a real pain on the 4 door especially trying to reach into the back to unlock it. Very hard to reach! those are the only options I wish it had otherwise Im good. a rubicon is 14 K more you can mod a sport for alot less

I disagree. I think Jeeps look great in white.
