AC install?

What would it take to install AC on my jeep? Is it even possible? I know I would need a new HVAC control, condenser and all the other AC parts but would it be possible? They wanted like $3,000 extra for AC when I bought my jeep which is ridiculous so I didn't get it, but I want it.

I have a 2012 JK. Also I am guessing that would void the warranty but I may be able to have it done at a dealer for cheap through a coworker who knows someone working at a Jeep dealer.

I'm sure it's possible but it's gonna cost a lot.....probably as much as the $3,000.00 you were told the factory A/C was gonna cost you when you factor in parts, labor, supplies, etc....

Speaking of that....I can't believe they told you $3,000.00 for A/C. I'm guessing that it was part of a bigger package that included A/C along with other options because the A/C upgrade on my JK was only $895.00

$3,000? It's only a $800 or so add on option. It's gonna cost you a lot more to do it now after purchasing the jeep however.

Yeah I figured that. Damn. Thats why I didn't get it because I knew how much it was to add it on and they didn't have any in stock that had it with the other options I wanted. (or didn't want) lol

Guess I won't get it.

It seems to be really difficult to install. See this page for more info:
2007 - 2009 JK Wrangler 3.8 Liter Engine

These guys sell AC kits for jeeps for a living, and they don't want to sell one for the JK, primarily because of the engine computer not recognizing the newly installed AC.

Good luck!
