AC only on one side?

It is finally warm weather here and my first time turning on the AC in my (new to me) 2008 JK Unlimited and I'm getting cold air out of the passenger side ac vents but not the drivers side. It doesn't have dual controls so why is this happening?

Having the freon checked today but how could low freon cause it to cool on one side and not the other?

Sounds like a blower motor relay or heater core issues possibly

I get heat fine out of all four vents. And the air flow is good out of all four vents but the air is outside temp on the drivers vents and cool on the passenger side vents.

As weird as it seems, low freon could do that & I've only seen it once. Read about it before that. It was a dual zone I was working on. Thought the door for the driver's side was sticking. It wasn't. Check freon level & found it low. Recharged it & it was good as golden ducks. Never found a leak in the system though...

May be a door is sticking some where causing the hot air to travel just to the driver's side. But I would recommend checking freon first.

Freon was low and after filling AC works just fine out of all 4 vents. Still can't find a leak.

Get some a/c oil (PAG/ester) that has dye in it & inject about an ounce into the system. Then, while you drive from place to place doing what ever. Just keep the a/c on. After some time, get a black light, yellow glasses, & see if you can see any dye traces along the whole a/c system. Pipes, compressor, dryer, condenser, even at the drain for the evap core. If you can't see the drain, check the water that comes out from it. It should have traces of the oil/dye in it.

If you see no traces at all. Then it may be the schrader valves. You can always test this first by pouring a little bit of a/c oil in them & see if you see any bubbles come up. Give it some time, cause it can be a small leak.
