Got mine yesterday (a day earlier than FedEx originally said). Still out of town and hopefully I will get it installed Sunday afternoon.

I think they are so far behind on production, vendors started catching flak from customers for the long wait, so to save themselves the headache, they are not selling them for the time being until the backorders are filled.

No, that is not the case. We sell them everyday! We are just behind on working on the site. Our "Site Computer" is in the shop right now getting worked on and soon as it is up and running, the site will start coming together more.

If there is ANYTHING you guys need, including this bumper, just shoot us a PM here, or email (Jason@KrawlOff-Road.com), or call us at 864-437-8029 and we can get you taken care of!

-Jason

I love this bumper... But I wish it would not have come powder coated... I have small rust spots on almost every piece. I may end up having it media blasted and recoated.. Rather frustrating.

Same, had to touch up a bunch of spots after having it on about 2 weeks. Emailed them with pics and they basically said it's normal and their stuff is sprayed and not dipped so some spots get a lighter coat. I'm taking off my ACE sliders soon to scuff and bedline them since they are rusting too along the welds. Been on about a year. Love the product, but don't trust the finish. If I only knew I would have tried to get it shipped bare steel and just bedlined it.

For now I just took a wire brush to it and brushed on some black rustoleum. Kinda disheartening to be touching up a brand new bumper that barely saw any rain, and I can only imagine how it's going to look after a winter, and started to rust in 2 weeks time, at least when I first noticed it.

i've been considering this for a while now, but i have a few questions.

1. will the tire carrier be compatible with a cooltech cb mount?

2. Is there an accessory for adding a hi-lift jack to the tire carrier?

3. Is there an accessory for adding a jerry can to the tire carrier?

thanks in advance,

Dwight

I have that, removed it to install the ACE and havent gotten around to re-installing it. But I plan on working on it soon. If its going to fit it looks like it's gonna be close! You'll lose that hole in the tailgate though as the ACE backing plate covers it up. I plan on fishing the wires through the vent.

I should have put it on right away, but the ground wire broke when I was taking it off, completely corroded and just snapped off. I'm just hoping I can do it with just taking the tire off and not unhooking the swing out part completely. Hopefully I can get away with using the stock bolts since I don't need the spacer anymore and the extended bolts the kit comes with. Raining today, shooting to get it done by Sunday for a big Jeep gathering. I'll keep this thread updated once I tackle it and pictures to prove of disprove it.

OK got home from work and had some time to burn. I got bad news....it doesn't fit. Well the mount does, but you can't attach the antenna. I shot some pics. Now I'm on the hunt for a different style mount.

Here you can see it mounts just fine, but the part of the carrier is awfully close:

Different angle showing how close it is to the carrier (don't mind my 3rd brake light wire that is currently hiding behind:

Just got it on by hand to show how close it is now with the antenna mount screwed in:

Antenna hits the tire carrier part and you can't thread the antenna in:

Then I remembered this mount can be installed the other way which lowers the antenna, but when I tried that I couldnt get any of the screw in since the bend was hitting the lower portion of the carrier:

Bummer.

Ah well. That mount served its purpose for 2 years. Just need to find a different one now.

I don't think it is that huge and frankly for a $500 savings compared to other manufacturers I don't mind it at all!

An update - still loving my Ace bumpers! No problems at all and I even got a set of lights.

I am pretty sure that all manufacturers bumpers have a logo of some sort built into them.... Poison spider, LOD, genright, and ace.

Does anyone have an elegant solution for the factory tow hitch wiring with the ace rear bumper? I was pretty surprised to see there wasnt a tab to accept the factory wiring. It looks pretty silly just hanging down there. Even in their install video its just dangling. Ideas?

A logo is cool, lettering I don't like. I like the spider PS uses.

Accessory mount

So was there an answer to whether this has accessory mounts? Gas, hi-lift, etc?

No it does not... I have spoken with AJ at ACE and he said they are currently working on a prototype hi-lift mount, but nothing for sure yet... I had to get hood mounts for my hi-lift. Not ideal but it works.

OK thanks. That's too bad. I guess I'll have to decide if I want to wait or maybe go for the LoD carrier that does have the mount points.

I glued mine on with 5200 adhesive and it has held up fine. Just degrease prior and tape it in place overnight to cure.

Logos are cool, like Dave said above.

But the ACE lettering is so large and offcenter, it just looks like an ad that they should be paying you to display. From what I understand, ACE makes quality products that speak for themselves, so I'm not sure why they decided on the huge lettering.

P.S...my AEV rear bumper doesn't have any logo of any sort built into it

I was also considering an Exp1 rear bumper which doesn't have any logos either.

I'm just being nitpicky...the bumper is awesome otherwise and I could live with the logo

Ace needs to consider a rear bumper and tire carrier that uses the existing towing package receiver. Almost all other brands have one. I have the Ace rock sliders and they are awesome. They were also priced great. I would love to outfit my entire Wrangler with Ace products including the bumpers.
