Not trying to start an argument but why is that so important versus just replacing the stock receiver with the one built into the Ace bumper?

I had the same reservations, but Ace's rear is one of the very few rear bumpers with a built in hitch receiver that IS tow rated, same as an oem or any of the aftermarket receivers.

No argument needed. If something works well, why do away with it especially if other companies are accommodating Wranglers with the Tow Package option. I just think a lot more people would consider ACE bumpers and/or carriers if they provided that option. See the post above mine. Scipio337 had reservations and so do many more people.

As long as I have a receiver with similar tow rating, I'm happy. Replacing the receiver was not a major factor in my decision on a bumper, so I was just curious. If the Ace bumper didn't have the same tow rating, then it would have been a factor. My oem receiver will go up on CL and I may get a few bucks for it.

I have an OE-like RR receiver and would have no qualms scrapping it/selling it to install a ACE rear bumper. It look like the departure angle would be better with their receiver position in the bumper over the OE location if that's important to you.

It would be nice if their was an OE like mount for the wiring plug.

Looks sick! Should have a rear bumper shootout with RS-E and sh*ttybuilt for humor

My Ace bumper has arrived (with LED lights but w/o tire carrier) and I'm anxious to install it. The bumper installation itself looks pretty straight forward, but the LED lights have me a little concerned since I'm fairly clueless when it comes to wiring. The instructions aren't very helpful to me either.

Is there anyone that can give me a few hints or steps to get started? I've seen a couple of posts but nothing really detailed as far as how to tie into the backup lights.

I also want to run the wiring to an sPOD eventually so I can switch on the lights independent of the backup lights. Do I just tie into the backup lights now and then save the rest of the wiring for later when I have the sPOD installed? If so, are there steps should I take now so I could avoid removing the bumper later to run the wiring to the sPOD? Do I need a relay just to tie into the backup lights? Any help would be appreciated.

Ok: going to order one for an ordered JKUR...only going to run 33" tires for a bit in 285-70-17.

Does the Teraflex extension kit work with the ACE tire carrier correctly?

Does ACE have a solution. The police in this region will ticket for no 3rd light....so it is a problem.

Thanks.

For the third light, go to a auto parts store. Buy the little round led trailer lights, splice them with quick disconnects into the third brake ligjt wire. Place leds in open lug nut holes. Viola! You know have a third brake light.
I can take pics tomorrow if needed.

Yes, the 3rd light is a easy DIY project. We have had guys do many different options!

Question, are Rigid LED's the only ones that will work in the cut outs? it looks like only a single row of LED's would fit. Would the 6" Engo E-series work even though they are double row LED's?

Awesome looking bumper, need to get me one hopefully!!

Thanks

Biggest problem would be the mounting tabs. If you are good at fabbing and welding, then I am sure something could be worked out.
I can't do either, and I am extremely pleased with the rigid lights. Expensive, but worth it. I went back and forth on if I should get them, and I am now glad I did.

There are other single row LED's but the mounting tabs are for the Rigids. Like Moscoeb said, getting them to work might be a different story.

I'm interested in this bumper but without the tire carrier. Anyone have one without the carrier option and have a good pic?

Thanks, I love the Rigid LED's but the price is up there. guess they will have to go on the bottom of the list for now.

Thanks for the info!!

I have one w/o the tire carrier sitting in the box in my garage. Hopefully, I'll get it installed this weekend after I figure out what to do with the lights. I'll post a pic when it's on the jeep.

Going with the LED in the middle of the wheel. Would have prefered the teraflex option, but this is cleaner.

PS: Thanks for the help. Plan to put full ACE all around the JKUR. My dealer is handling it directly. Anvil 14 en route (weeks away). Hoping I'll like all the ACE wrap.

What size d-ring fits: 7/8 screw in part? 3/4?

TIA

Here is my Ace bumper without the tire carrier. I have the Teraflex HD hinge and I was using the stock carrier which fit with my stock bumper. I discovered after I installed the Ace bumper yesterday I would also need to get the TF adjustable carrier which raises the spare higher so it will fit with this bumper. I had intended to get the adjustable carrier eventually anyway since it's stouter than the stock carrier, so a quick call to Jason at KOR and I have one on the way.

I really like the bumper, and I'm thinking I may get the Ace front bumper at some point and replace my RR XHD bumper.

Brighton thank you! The ACE rear bumper looks fabulous without the carrier.
I wasn't sure if the mounting area still had the hole or not when getting the non-carrier option. This is absolutely going to be my new rear bumper. Thanks again!

I wonder if these LED light bars would work?

We are now a BBL dealer!

I don't think they would as the rear on the ACE is setup for a single row. Those are a dual row.

I got my ACE rear bumper with tire carrier installed today. Thanks Jason from KOR! Installation was fun. The bumper looks and operates great, but there is a terrible rattle that echoes throughout the cabin coming from the heim joint linkage when driving, and especially when closing the tailgate.

I can see and feel that the noise is coming from a tiny amount of play, about 1/32" of movement in the eye of each heim joint end and the 1/2" bolt that runs through the hole.

The tire carrier only moves a small amount, but with a 100 pound wheel / tire, the rattle is very loud. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Too bad...I've seen the BBL lights in person and for my $$$$, I'm a BBL fan. Maybe one day they will "see the light" and bring their prices more inline with the rest of the industry.

That is a major deal breaker issue for me...could you share what ACE tells you to do about it and the success you have with it.

TIA.

Your description makes me wonder if it is a thing that can be fixed at all...

Before the bumper arrived, I spent a long time researching installation, including watching their installation video several times:

At around 6:15 in the video, they show the heim joint adjustment. The only thing I can think is that maybe mine should be adjusted so that the carrier is pressed harder against the nylon cradle when closed.

That should fix it. There should be ZERO rattle on this. We run a HEAVY spare on ours (40" with a Beadlock). It is about 150lbs. When we first installed it, there was not noise. We had a couple runs we went on and then there was a rattle. Sounded bad everytime we hit a bump or something. Sure enough, some of the bolts were not tight enough. Snugged them back up and have been great ever sense! We have over 3K on this bumper now with that heavy spare will no issues.
