And get yourself some rustoleum. When you grind them, you remove the finish and leave the edges exposed to rust.

awesome! I've got the six pack ready to go. Also how do you guys like these as steps for kids when wet? I've been considering ACE over Smitty's SRC and RR RRC, but wasn't sure how functional they would be as steps.

Haven't had any issues with them being too slippery. I have little kids and they climb on them. If you're concerned (they do get slick), get some 3M 1 inch tape:

Amazon.com: 3M 7634NA Safety-Walk Black Outdoor Tread 1-by-180-Inch Roll: Home Improvement

(Up Hill Bill deserves credit for that one, heard it from him first)

I followed JIMBO's advice, and applied 1" wide, black, 3M "safe-step" (or something like that) self adhesive tape, bought at an ACE Hdwr., to the top surface of mine. Easy, cheap (±$10), looks good, Jimbo says his has been on without problems for a good while. I don't remember how long, but I'm sure it was more than a year.

Edit: Well, at least I was beaten by a real pro and a gentleman!

Very functional...especially when you add some no-slip tape. They already have a slight gritty texture to help traction, but the tape helps a lot especially with sloppy kid feet. Lowes sells some in 2"width, but I would suggest you cut down the middle and only use 1"wide sections since you're placing it on a curved surface.

I called them on a Satruday, they said they had more stock being built (actually out for powdercoating). By Wednesday they shipped and I had them in something like 2 days. So less than a week and that was when they didn't have stock.

My rails were delivered in eight days from order. Their powder coat vendor is running behind. However, Ace may have paid for expedited shipping because UPS delivered them to NC in two days.

Hope to install them this weekend and will post pictures.

Does someone make a rock rail that looks like the Ace rail but has a diamond plate step on it? Making it a little easier for kids to enter.

My kids 3, 5, 6, and 8 have no problems with the ACE. Then again they climb more than step because of the lift. The 3M trick probably could help a lot. I know that doesn't answer your question. Just sharing my experience.

Thanks! It was a question my wife asked, I figured I'd toss it out there. We saw a picture somewhere of a rock rail that had what looked like a small diamond plate step welded to it, I can't find it now.

We are new to the forum here and a HUGE fan and supporter of ACE! They make VERY nice products! Anyone that has not looked at them should! VERY high quality for the price. Not your typical "Get what you pay for" deal with ACE! Their products are top of the line and can take a beating and still ask for more!

Has anyone checked out there new fenders they just released for the JK?

Agree. The quality for the price is unbeatable. I've seen their fenders on the site. Very nice!

No.

These guys are selling a TOP quality product at an unbelievably low price already. Just try to buy the raw materials to build your own at the same price. They are pretty much giving away their labor. Get yours before they wake up and raise the price!

The brown truck is dropping off mine tomorrow. I can't wait to put them on. I'll have to for a bit though. When I bought my Rubi, I had them install side steps so the wife could get in easier. They took the Rubi Rails off and were supposed to throw them in the back, but didn't and I didn't notice until I got home. I've been trying, not very successfully to get them to send them back to me, they're 180 miles away. I called them again today and I was told they are shipping them tomorrow, we'll see. I want to re-install the Rubi Rails before installing the ACE rials, I like the looks of both on there and I figure it's a little more protection. Now I got to find someone that wants to buy my OEM side steps...

We can help anyone on the forum out with getting anything they need at a great price... Just sayin.

A lot of people like the look of these sliders with the Rubi Rails. You can also run the Smitty side protection if you dont have the Rubi Rails. They look great together!
