A lot of people like the look of these sliders with the Rubi Rails. You can also run the Smitty side protection if you dont have the Rubi Rails. They look great together!

I ordered my rails thru Jason at Krawl Off-Road. Jason seems to have a lot of knowledge and ideas on what you can do on the budget you have to make your dollar go further. I'll be calling later to get Adam's fenders.

Nice. Plan to have lots of time to do other stuff. These things are so easy to put on. A few minutes to take out the bolts, a few minutes to grind the washers and a few minutes to put the bolts back in.

Their video suggests two people for installation, which would help. But I did it myself and used the box they came in to prop one side up while I installed the other. Good luck.

My rock rails just came in, wow! All I can say is wow. These things are some of the best pieces I have ever seen. I am proud to have purchased this American made product! Perfect is all I can say. Great welds bends coating. These guys really know what they are doing and I'm proud to have purchased from them and supported their business! Even the packaging is well thought out! All I can say is thank you for building such an amazing product.

Adam, Ive ordered your rock rails and inquired about your tube fenders thru Jason at Krawl Off-Road. I really want your fenders but was wondering if you will be fabricating these pieces in standard width?

Is there any point in leaving the stock Rubi-rails on with these?

I know we have talked about this and cant speak for Adam on the final say so but this has been in that talks but nothing set in stone yet. BUT, I bet if you guys keep ordering up the fenders, it will help push Adam into getting the different witdhs!

All the Rubi-rails do is help fill the gap between the rails and the body. They also help hide the pinch seem. I guess IF something were to ever get buy the rails, it would help protect the body as well.

If you were to bump something hard (drop it on a rock) the rubi rails will absorb the impact (from the Ace rails) and spread the impact out over a larger area. That is a good thing.

I love my ACE rails, was my very first mod. Superb quality! I recommend them to all my friends. Here is how amazing this product is: They went as far as including a bottle opener to pop the top off the beer you'll be drinking when you install them!

Now, I'd like to share my opinion on the Rubi rails with the ACE rails. The Rubi rails may also damage the body! How? Well, at my first outing, I noticed that small rocks and sand collected between the Rubi rails and the body, and as I was driving around, made some nasty sounds. Got out to check, and the rocks were scratching up the body as it flexed a bit between the Rubi rails and the body. Had to clear out all the rocks in there to prevent any further scratching. I get that they need tolerance, but the whole point is to keep that area clean.
I may eventually take the rubi rails off. The ACE sliders are SOLID... not sure anything can really get past them that would necessitate the Rubi rails. But, that is a good point by Jason @ KrawlerOff-Road, a backup plan is always good to have. Just, not if they will end up scratching more than protecting. We'll have to see.

Never heard of anyone having that problem. I wonder if you can use some foam tape in between the Rubi Rails and the body pannel?

All of ACE's parts are SOLID! You should check out there fenders they just come out with!!!

Mine bolted up too close to the rubi rails. So a good bump and it rattled/thumped. I shimmed them down with a large thick washer. Problem solved.

Ace Rails were my first mod too and they look good!

I have now noticed, one month after installation, that they squeak as the body flexes in city driving. I assume that could be remedied by using synthetic washers between the frame and rail mounting points. Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix?

Did you torque the body bolts back to 80 ft. lbs. when installing the rails? If not, that might be the source of the squeaking.

uphillbill is correct. The torque spec is 80 ft/lb. They will not move or squeak if tightened. Let me know what you find. Thanks

And double check the torque if you didn't use lock-tite or a generic version of that. If you have a harbor freight nearby, they have the medium lock-tite for about $4, and a Pittsburg 1/2" drive torque wrench that does up to 150 ft/lb can be had for $10 with a coupon, $14.99 off the shelf.
I got light tapping before torquing to spec, I actually thought that I had over torqued at first. 80 ft/lb is pretty significant torque once I checked it with the torque wrench. Now, I do get some minor tapping on the driver side, negligible, when going over certain bumps. It did not increase in magnitude when taking a beating off road though, so I will not be adding a shim to them. The torque definitely helped.

Ace

The ACE sliders kept the Jeep in tip top shape when navigating through rocky areas with the m416. As you know, with a trailer, its best to keep going forward... they blend in very nicely with the Jeep.
