Rubicon's come with rocker panel protection. Sports and X's don't. The rocker protection drops down and doesn't leave much clearance between it and the rock sliders. So on a bumpy road, one side clanks. That means you simply need to remove these, shim then down about 3/8" with a heavy washer, and retighten. Unfortunately that means getting longer correct sized hardened metric bolts. Jeep uses a crappy nutsert (hidden nut), which wants to cross thead the new bolts... Something that should be incredibly easy task with 6 bolts ended up being a PIA. (probably is on a Sport or X, not on my '12 Rubi). Grinding those washers down was a waste of time.

I installed them on my 2012 Unlimited Rubicon and after installing I thought I was going to have that issue... I went out on some local trails in a ranch, so far no problems to report.. All good here.

My rubicon has the factory sliders on as well as the ace sliders. unless they changed the sliders for 2012 they should be the same as my 11'. there is little space between the stock sliders and ace rails. I've driven it down some pretty rocky roads(and some rocky ledges) and never heard a peep. I did use a rechargable impact to install, don't know if that made a difference.
