Just took off my ACE/Rubi rail combo to install Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers. When I did I noticed a small dent running the entire length of the tub on the passenger side which was also filled with very small scratches. It appeared maybe the ACE pushed the Rubi rail up and caused the damage? I have come down very hard on that side several times but never the drivers side, and it was fine. It is small enough and hidden behind the new rails that nobody will notice it unless I point it out. Anyone else experience this?
If these were the ACE rails that bolt to the body mounts I would not be surprised if they flexed into the rubi rail and your body. They are fine to use as a step and minor scraping but nothing serious. The poison spyder or LOD rails that bolt to the frame, or the ACE rails that weld to the frame, will offer much better protection.
It's dark and I can't get a good picture till tomorrow, but I can nearly squeeze a finger between the top rail and the tub. In the mean time here is a nice pick of some frog legs on the grill!
Well, have not seen the body mounted ones in person, but I can say these have no "stepability". Maybe someone with the body mounted ones can chime in.
