I'm on my phone and can't post a link but I had a pretty big thread about a year ago about HR hoops.
Lots of stinger pics in there along with other hoops.
I know the maximus stuff is spendy, but the brackets that bolt to the frame and reinforce the thin metal bumpers also make the hoop very ridged. more so than one that only bolts to bumper.
If you plan to get a winch...I'd suggest that you spend your money on a new bumper. The winch kit for your bumper is a little under $300, then add the cost of a stinger, and you've almost paid for a new bumper. I know from experience.
I love my HR bumper and I have the maximus LP hoop. That said if I could do it over again I would just invest the money into a poison spider winch bumper with the bar already on it.
The reason I say this is because you will probably want a lift down the road and bigger tires. Well, that means you need to upgrade your tire carrier too. The maximus 3 carrier costs 800. That's almost 1400 for the stinger, tire carrier and the winch setup. You could get a much higher quality aftermarket front bumper, rear bumper and tire carrier combo for 2k and have them in whatever style you like. Also, for a bonus you can sell your HR stuff for 4 to 500 and make some of that money back.
Before you pull the trigger sit back and think about what your end goal is for your jeep. Do research on everything you want to mod and what you have to fix because of the mod. After that decide if keeping the HR bumper is best for you.
I already have a smittybuilt winch in the Bronze HR bumper. Also, a 2.5" Mopar levelling kit on 33" tires. I really want to retain the bronze 75th anniversary bumper, so I was hoping to find a stinger i could just add on and have powdercoated to match. I'll probably just wait until someone decides to get rid of their maximus-3... if I have to.
I went with the MOPAR. Easy install, the bolt pattern is perfect. I liked the forward rake and it's kind of a medium height, not too over the top if know what I mean. The finish on it is very good and matched finish on the HR bumper on my '17. I haven't seen the MOPAR one in bronze, though. Also, the MOPAR bar leaves plenty of room behind the tow hooks as well.
Do you have more pics on how it mounts? How's the clearance around the tow hooks? Their website only shows a stock bumper and says to call about fitment on special editions. It looks like a taller version of the Mopar. Looks good.
I just installed the Maximus3 stinger without the stars this past weekend. Yes, it was spendy . . . and, yes, I love the look and rigidity of it. If I didn't want to keep my vehicle mostly stock, the money would have been better spent on aftermarket bumper as it'll cost me more to add the winch plate in the future.
Why buy the HR Edition if I planned to replace the items that made it unique?
i thought like that when i bought my HR but now after a broke fender i went with flat fenders now the bumpers are not going to look right its never end with jeeps
