Now for some protection under this fine ride, a set of EVO skids for the oil pan, trans pan and the exhaust crossover. It's a nice system, and covers these components very well.

We feel Tom Woods builds the best driveshaft out there, and so it's this JKs turn for a front for now.

And finally ramp time to check all suspension components for clearance or interference, and check brake lines, power steering lines, and trans lines for contact. All is good and off for a test drive.

This JK drove excellent, and articulated with ease. Our choice of caster works very well with these lifts and tire size. Now to program the ECM with the AEV procal, and it's on it's way to Ridgecrest, then Moab! Have fun Stan!

I'm very impressed with how it turned out. The ride home was a breeze and the looks were even more amazing. You could see people slow down to check it out.

Stan, I appreciate all of your help and guidance with this project. I'm so glad I went with the 3.5" RK Extreme Lift based on your suggestion. What really was impressive though, was driving up and seeing your detail guy giving it some tender loving care...just like you and your crew did with the build

Seeing the other rigs there was impressive by itself, especially the orange crush JKUR.

For those thinking of 35's with an auto and 4:10's.....DO IT!

Those looking for a shop, look no further than JPi and crew!!!!

Thanks once again Stan and now off to Moab to get it filthy!!!

While you are out wheelin in Moab, be sure to check in the rear wheel wells for contact between the bolt on the rear sway bar and for lack of a better term at this hr, the frame. I had contact on the passenger rear only. The upper bolt on the rear sway bar linkage would dig into the frame in that area when were articulated to extreme angles and leaning to passenger.

Not all X factors make this contact. I worked with both RK and my installer to get the fixed and in the end the fix was to cut off the bolt ends. Problem solved. If you want some pics PM me your email and I will send them.

Looking forward to the pics of Moab.

I like the fact that JPi put their rigs on ramps to check for clearance and or binding issues. Very nice. If my installer had done this maybe the clearance issue with the rear sway would have been detected and corrected at that time.

Rig looks great, can't wait to wheel with ya.

One more thing AP, ya might as well order your Rock Hard sliders so JPi has them ready for install upon your return... Just sayin... ;-)

Oh how I would love to, thank you for the invitation. Hopefully next year we will be able to get out more.

We will have no more kids to buy houses for and remodel them. The priority right now it to get my daughter, her husband, son, dog and cat out of my house and into theirs, 4 weeks is long enough Not to mention she thinks she can drive my Jeep when she likes

Our daughter and her husband ( Navy) and grand kids are all in Japan (6 years now) wish they were closer...

The wife has been there many times in 6 years so she gets her grandma fix in They will be out here in Sept. for a few months so I'm happy for that time.

I watch the fort while she is gone and that way she can relax and not worry....just me worrying

I'll bet your both looking forward to September, now you can take them out wheeling in your cool Jeep

I complain a little, but honestly I'm very thankful both my son and daughter live within 5 miles. It helps when we financed their houses, gave us a little say as to where they lived

My 15 month old Grandson is the reason for the Jeep, I didn't feel comfortable hauling him around in my old TJ and I have him two days a week. So the Jeep is actually Caleb's Jeep

Now I'm working on teaching him to say, "Jeep". I also hope he grows tall quickly so he can climb in on his own, he's quite a load to lift that high in the car seat. Lol

Moab update:

The trip from Ridgecrest to Moab took us 12 hours to drive. We hit some heavy rain just before the Moab turnoff on I-70. The rain had some hail mixed in but no damage to the body. We did get some radiator damage though that we didn't discover it until today We didn't have any overheating issues ( 101* today ) and the needle stayed pegged in the middle so I guess it's all good.

The new mods installed by JPi worked perfect. The ride was very good with the tires set at 28 psi and we averaged about 17 mpg at between 70-75 mph. On the trip back I'll air 'em up to 32 and see if there's any difference.

Stan,the jeep performed very well and I'm even more stoked that I went with the RK 3.5 Extreme on your suggestion, especially in this terrain in Moab. We were able to try a little bit of everything on this trail including rocks and steep climbs and it was no sweat. Very confidence inspiring. You set it up nicely Stan

Pictures and video will be coming soon. We're in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and service is limited at best.

Oh, I almost forgot. We met up with some people from San Diego, Canada and Oklahoma. Great bunch of folks! We BBQ'd last night, drank some Patron and sat by the fire swapping stories. In the morning after breakfast, we all headed out for the trail. We met up with 3 other local jeepers and the day began...

Nice to hear you used your jeep like jeeps are meant to be used in Moab. That's a real good testing ground for projects like yours. If the only carnage was the front bumper, you did well!

Have you seen the better pics on my wife's facebook? There's a video there too and that is where some undercarriage damage happened. Posion Spider. Not bad though. The bumper damage happened at Metal Masher.

I'm not good at posting pics ( the above post was done by someone else ) but I'll try and get some good ones up soon...

I might come down and see you for more work

Hatewagon is from Canada and we all met for the first time Sat. night for a BBQ. When I say all, there were a total of 4 groups including us that wheeled the eight days we were there. San Diego, Oklahoma, Canada and us from Ridgecrest. We met some locals who showed us around and were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction and tagging along.

We all became VERY good friends and it was hard to say good-bye.

I received a text today from our Oklahoma friends that his wife just bought a new '13 Gecko JKUR! Got rid of the TJ she was driving!
