Adding Driving Lights

I know that there have been a lot of threads about adding driving lights to supplement the factory lights, but I haven't found much to address powering the lights. I am looking to add them to the front bumper by adding a light bar, or the Quadratec harness, but I really want to be able to turn on/off with the factory headlight switch. Is this possible? Has anyone done this? Is there a writeup for this? I see that the lighting harnesses that you can order come with a switch, but again, I want to tie them into the factory switch.

I feel like I have searched and searched through the forums for this answer. I have also tried to Google elsewhere, but cannot seem to find it. So...given that, ***please*** don't blast me if this has been explained over and over on the forums.

Thanks to all in advance for helping!!!

The easiest way to do what you're saying is to use the OE H13 plug's highbeam circuit to trip the relay for your driving lights.
Since that circuit is pulse-with modulated (through the canbus), it will have to have a capacitor wired inline to prevent the relay from buzzing and melting.

If this sounds scary, call Rallylights.com and talk to them. I had them build me a jumper like I described above so that I could have a plug-n-play set-up.
Just call them; they'll know what I'm saying and will build you something easy/safe to use. For legal and best performance purposes, you'll want the driving lights to only come on with the highbeams.
Mine worked great.

Thanks a lot!!! This sounds EXTREMELY helpful and right on target. I want my front end to look similar to yours, but with the stock bumper. I will reach out to Rallylights.com when I collect some cash since I just dropped everything I had on the new Jeep!

It would be a good time to upgrade your headlights too.
You could install one of their headlight kits and use the passenger side plug for headlights and the driver's side plug for aux lighting. That's what I did anyhow.
Safe, effective, and legal.
