Newbie here and a newbie to Jeep Wranglers. First let me say I love it. Hadn't even made a payment yet and been off-roading 2 times at Bridgeport TX and the Ozark's around Jasper Ark.
My question: The dealer added the 35 tires and lifted it 3 inches. After driving along with my GPS I noticed my speed was off by 7 miles at 60 miles and hour (67). I took it back and the tech said Jeep can't program for tires that big. Does anyone know if this is true? The speed doesn't bother me that much, but my milage being off does (although it comes to my advantage in regards to the warranty).

Just to throw in my .02, my 2012 JKU came from the dealer with 35"s, and I see negligible difference between the speedo and the GPS (+/- 1-2 MPH). I am running 3.21 gears, so that may be a factor.
I had to reprogram the computer in my Cobra when I installed 4.10's. Anything steeper than that (4.57 etc) and you had to get a speed compensation module to fix the reading.
I am not aware of an aftermarket speed compensator on my Jeep but, I have been mistaken once or twice before.
FYI, if you are using your stock in dash GPS, it will be off also, it reads the same as your speedo! 35's will make your speedo off! Not to mention your odometer will show more miles than you actually have.

Dumb question: I got 35s and I'm having a 2 1/2" lift installed next week. Is the odometer going to show more mileage than actual or less? I know someone said more, but if the larger takes longer to make a full rotation, I would think it would show less mileage. My mental capacity just isn't getting this lol.
