I wanted a 2dr and at the last minute we decided a 4 door would work better for us. I have owned my new jku for 7 months and put close to 9000 miles on it and hardly a day goes by that I wish I would have gotten a 2 door. Every time I think the 4 door is great I see a 2 door and start thinking damn I wish I would have gotten a 2 door. 2 door JK's just look right. 4 doors look just ok but not "right"

i have a 2dr, by brother has a 4dr. i wish i had more room, he complains about having too much. i rip though the woods and trails, he gets high centered a lot. i can turn on a dime, he cant.
we get the same mileage, him with the pentastar V6 me with the EGH V6, both wish we bought manuals and both wish we had towing packages.
we hunt, fish and ride mountain bikes. ive had my ice shanty on top of my jeep (hardtop) my 7 foot pole hardly fits (as well as my offroad flag) i can fit a deer in the back if i take the seat out, and i can fit my bike with the front tire off with the seat out. he can fit everything without ease and most of the time with either one section of seats down or both up.

THE BIGGEST THING I HATE, is other passengers cant treat my wrangler nice, have tried but it doesnt work. with all of my friends being over 6 foot tall they have to climb behind the passenger seat and usually scuff the sh!t out of everything. it really is a toss up

Gotta go with needs first. Satisfied the want by getting a Jeep at all. I went with a JKU Sport. 3.73's a must. LSD. I went Auto and could care less what people think. I drove a stick with multiple vehicles and I am way past that as this is my DD. I've 2 kids and we are getting into camping. Love the extra room for all the goods plus I plan on getting a camper at some point do the towing advantages of the 4 door mattered.
As far as what someone wants completely depends on them.

I went to buy a 2dr, and waffled back and forth for a couple weeks. In the end, I went to buy a 2dr, it was gone, and then we bought the 4dr my wife wanted the next day.

The looks are really growing on me, but its just personnel preference. She wants one now, and we may pick up a 2dr.

For me the must haves were Auto, AC. Really I'm not a picky guy beyond that. I ended up with the connectivity group, and its my favorite feature on the whole jeep really. I can see skipping power options on a 2dr, but I would still get the connectivity group.

I wont do any hard core off-roading or towing, so I don't care about the gearing. The power in the 3.6 is really fine.

I am building mine for dirt roads and mall planter strip climbing. smile

My wife and I own one of each. 2 door JK manual, 4 door JKU auto. They are both awesome. Gas mileage is too close to notice a difference. 2 door is way more fun to drive (lighter, turns on a dime, park anywhere, etc). 4 door is way more practical (taking passengers, kids, hauling cargo, etc). She just looked over my shoulder and said "4 door." I say "2 door." Thats the best quick summary I can give you. Good luck!
Mine: '12 BFG JK Sport: 1.5 TF Leveling Kit, 33" Duratracs on Argent Pintlers, Bestop Trektop NX, Ace Rails, Rampage Recovery Bumper
Hers: '13 White JKU Sport S: 2 carseats in the back!

I miss the keyless, wife loves it as I need to open her the door
