He might be interested in trading me for my 06 4 door tacoma with 115k miles thats lifted but 2wd. My main reason for trading would be for 4x4 and I've always loved wranglers, and I more or less already like how he already has this one set up. I understand that this is an apple's to oranges comparison, but just shoot me straight on what y'all think.
Is the high mileage (180,000 for a 2010...yikes) a big deal?
What's reliability and maintenance look like on these SUV's once the mileage is that high up there?
Unless there is something wrong with the wrangler that is not visible, I would say that the value of the wrangler is at least a couple thousand more than the 2 wd pickup. I would in a heartbeat.
I would ask to have the Jeep first mechanically inspected before making a trade. 180,000 miles is a bit much. Especially for a vehicle that may have had a rough life. Personally I would pass.
It's probably worth what he's asking, but based on my experience with a 2008 wrangler, I wouldn't have a lot of confidence with the 3.8 engine with 180,000 miles.
My feelings when seeing ads similar to this is, if the seller is not willing to clean up the vehicle and take good pictures before posting the ad they are not the type of person who would take the time to maintain the vehicle.

30K miles a year is lots. And it really looks like shhit. $16K firm is crazy. I think he is going to have a hard time selling. If you want it... wait and lowball it. But kinda crazy to want it.
Check the jambs and under the hood to see how well this "custom" paint was applied.
If it was half assed, and it looks to be, it won't last and a cursory inspection in person will likely reveal many imperfections that these dirts covered pics would not.
Another big question...do you really like that paint job enough to own it?
You'd be much better off trading in that Tacoma in for a used Jeep at a dealer.
Better yet, sell it and bring cash as you'll get more for it that way
