Advice on DD JK

I'm planning in getting a JK Unlimited Sport (or X or whatever you call the basic model) 2010 or newer. My question is how is it on the highways and such. Looking to drive it around the state I live in, Montana and even driving it from Montana to Minnesota every other year or so. Not worried about off-road tires much. I would get some better than stock at some point but just some Yokohama AT-S or something similar. Thanks

JK's and JKU's have great on road manners, if you keep the stock set up it will be a plush ride. after a few mods they still maintain their on road manners they will just be a little bit stiffer depending on the build you go with. the Sport S comes with 32's "AT's" and the base x/sport has 29's which are fantastic on road.

I just got a 2014 Rubicon. Find my post asking the same question as you did as there are a bunch of people answered. Anyway I'm impressed by the ride. It's not a sports car though but the handling and ride are growing on me.

I have a 2012 JKU Sport used as a DD and I love it. You will feel the road but it handles great and is very comfortable.

Just drove our new 2014 JKUR for three days off road (Dyer, NV area) and about 6 hours there and back on the freeway.

It drives fine and is comfortable. The solid axles front and rear aren't the best for handling and ride but it works very well on road and is near impossible to beat off.

My JK is my daily driver, and it has made driving fun again. My workday drive time is two hours round trip. The peace of mind is inclement weather is especially nice. I passed more than a few abandoned vehicles last winter. Summer is even better. Driving around w/ no doors or top is fantastic. My only advice is to keep it light if you're not really into off roading and are worried about MPG. Don't add unnecessary, but cool looking, steel bumpers, winches, steel fenders, ect. The actual posted speed limit & cruise control is also your friend. My work trip is almost pure highway, and I average 19.5 MPG.
