AEV 2" Spacer kit with Bilstien Shocks?

Has anyone installed the AEV 2" BB w/ shock extensions, and left the shock extenders off and installed Bilstien 5100's for 2-3 inch lifts instead? I am thinking I shouldn't have any issues with this setup, but wanted to confer with those who my know for sure.

Thanks!!

That was my plan until I read AEV is going to release a full shock/spring 2-2.5" lift. I'll be waiting for that

Any word on pricing for that kit yet?

Also on a side note, do you need to install upgraded bumpstops if you are going with an aftermarket shock, such as the Bilsteins, to compensate for the longer than stock travel?

AEV has their own forum. Go here: American Expedition Vehicles - Product Forums - Powered by vBulletin

The target date for release of the 2.5" lift kit was December 1 (tomorrow). Don't know if that's still the case.

No, we have not heard anything on the new kit yet...

And, no. You should be fine with the stock bumps.

AEV- was supposed to release the 2-2.5" lift this month. we shall see.

I have the 2" coil spacer AEV lift- and was considering the same thing - either bilstein or Rancho9000 series shocks - just so I could elliminate the shock adapters and put a better shock on my rig..

So far just installed the 2"AEV level kit - no problems !!!

AEV unfortunately doesn't like to announce release dates on their products. It was expected to come out in early December, but by the looks of it that isn't going to happen as vendors still haven't been notified (as far as I know). Waiting to until this lift comes out to add 33's, I wish it would come out already!

Anyone have an opinion on the Skyjacker Nitro 8000's or the Black Diamond A/T's?

I did this on one of our JKs and posted it on the AEV forum a few months back. It works awesome. The ride is great. I had the Bilsteins left over when I removed a Mopar 2" lift off a JKU so I reused them with the AEV spacer lift on a 2dr. Currently running 33" Duratracs with it and it rides better than stock.
