AEV 2" Spacer Suspension System: before & after.

I thought I'd post some before and after pics of the AEV 2" Spacer Suspension System as installed on my Jeep, the first pic is what it looked like before the install. I won't lie, I paid my buddy's shop $150 to install it. The instructions make it seem like you can do it easy enough on jack stands and a floor jack, but I would recommend using an overhead lift as the guys were using their own body weight and a large pipe for leverage at times to wrestle the springs in and out, something that would be difficult to do on jack stands. These guys have done spacer lifts before, so the job got done much faster than I would've done it on my own.

Thanks, from the drivers seat you feel like you're sitting higher than 2 inches and it still has the factory ride to it.

Looks great!! ...and $150 is a great price for a lift install. I would add that I did mine on jack stands and had no issues removing the springs no bars or any other leverage required.

Amazing what just 2" of lift does. Looks great.
My front springs were a little tight to slip spacers into. But the rear springs practicaly fell out.
But as stated above, $150 is a good price. I'd probably paid that dropped it off and gone fishing.

Looks real good, I also didn't have to use any extra force to get the springs out. once the shocks and sway bars were off the axle went right down and the springs fell out..

What wheels are those? I see the dealerships keep putting them on their jeeps. I see them all the time.

How was the caster after the lift? I keep going back and forth on the 2.0 spacers and the 2.5 XT kit since my plan is to run 33s

You're a bad influence....

Back on track. How far off were the axles also?

The rims are 17x9 XD Addicts, tires are 285/70R17 DuraTracs.

The steering wheel tilts just slightly to the right now even though the front wheels seem to still be on their mark, the steering wheel can be adjusted later on but not really bad enough to worry about.

Barely noticeable, most people wont even notice. I have to second guess that they're really off at all when judging, I'd say a couple millimeters without precision measuring equipment. It looks like the Jeep came from the factory this way honestly.

1/2" or 1/4" off center. Rear is a half inch to passenger side front a half inch to the drivers side. It drives me crazy every time I walk up to the jeep! When I asked AEV about it they said it was not an issue and that most don't notice it. When I asked then why does the 2 1/2" kit use a bracket that also recentered the axle the phone went silent

Some have used adj. track bars to solve the problem

Mines well within the 1/4", I think results can vary. One of the guys that worked on mine has a lifted GC, he told me about extended track brackets sometimes being hit or miss on strength if I went that route.

You should get your steering wheel centered. You might encounter the elecronic stability control going off when you are taking tight corners if you don't center the steering wheel. It can be unnerving to take a corner and all of a sudden the Jeep starts acting possessed.

Good point, I'll certainly look into that. My AEV ProCal addresses steering wheel adjustment I believe, would it be wise to take it to the dealer for the adjustment considering I'm under warranty and a faulty ESC claim might get shot down due to me having a lift without steering correction?

Looks like a 15mm wrench and a few minutes, I'll text my buddy or an available second set of eyes for an assist on watching the wheel. Thanks!

Nice, wheels and a bit of lift really change the character for the better!

Your 3rd photo kind of looks like mine , except that your JKU is clean and I have 35" tires with a different lift.

Nice rig.. they do kinda look similar, but different..
I wanted 35's but being daily driver, I opt'd for 33's.

The RR wheels are awesome!

Almost 3 weeks ago, I had the tires installed from DT. The armor all or whatever they used still hasn't completly wore off yet, even in 2 rainfalls

About that time I was driving mine with just 11 miles on it back from Chicago on oem 29"s coated in Armor All. 4 hours of driving home with it slung that crap all over my Jeep. At 1100 miles, 2 car washes and a sponge bath later, Im still finding remnants of Armor All spray.
