AEV Hood, Buy Painted or Unpainted????

I am looking to buy a AEV hood for My 2013 Unlimited. I am not sure if I should but it already painted or have it painted after I buy it. Has anybody had any problems buying a AEV hood already painted?

Thoughts????

No experience here with it, but I didn't think the painted price seemed too bad. Curious to see what those that have purchased will say.

It's on my list, and I'm going to try and have it shipped painted. The price is comparable to what I would pay to have it painted. As long as it's packed right, and UPD doesn't go nuts with it, it should be ok. Otherwise refuse delivery/return it.

Yea, I guess that is a thought. As long as you can open it fast enough before the shipping company leaves.

I bought mine I unpainted and had the local shop paint it. Since my local dealer is an AEV dealer, I ended up getting the hood painted and installed for the same price as Quadratec charges, and didn't have to pay their $150 shipping surcharge. Very happy with the result, the match is spot on.

Bought mine un painted. I head read too many posts where the pre painted hood would almost always show up with scratches, in which you either send it back, or get it fixed on your own, which both can be a PITA and more money.
I also thought that AEV no longer ships them pre painted because of this reason. I might be wrong though

I don't think AEV had ever done them prepainted. I believe Quadratec has them done and sells then like that on their own, but I could be wrong.
