AEV Online Order, Really?

Over the weekend I ordered some new Pintlers. I never got an email confirmation so I called them today. A guy in sales told me they are INPUTTING the weekend online orders and confirms will not go out until they ship which will probably be tomorrow.

REALLY? AEV, you take the online order and INPUT it back into your system? You need to find someone to help you automate this. Once an online order is done it should NOT be manually input again.

Very disappointed in your system, I hope I am not disappointed in the Pintlers.

Maybe they're having system issues? That seems pretty old school.

Probably computer issues... I have been in a lot of contact with them over the last 2 weeks regarding my build and they have been great and responsive. I do know that had some IT meltdown early last week. Good luck with the Pintlers...I chose black Savegre's for my RubiX. You running 35's?

Not 35s I am running 285/70/17 Duratracs and right now they rub with my Rubi X wheels without spacers. Problem is spacers are illegal here in Utah. Big-O told me today they will not pass safety on a Jeep with wheel spacers hence the Pintlers.

I will certainly let you all know when I actually get my order confirmation and the wheels show up. And I thought Quadratec was slow.

You could always order through Northridge 4x4, they are an AEV dealer and have a warehouse in Colorado, probably get to you quicker and maybe free shipping too.

Hopefully you won't be disappointed in the Pintlers, I'm very happy with mine.

I actually prefer my orders to be processed by humans. Retains jobs for one. And secondly, don't think for a second automated is any safer. I work for one of the largest credit unions in the nation and see fraud everyday. Trust me lol

I'm confused...both have them listed right on their site? Do they sell and just not stock them?

I could find the black but not the matte black.

Sure, I will call them but I thought this was a forum dedicated to both good and bad experiences. If you don't want to read the bad, move on. This one does not appear it will turn out good so it will carry a PG rating.

Update: It appears their web system dropped the order.

Learning experience. What AEV calls matte black is the same as black at other sites so I will go order these at Northridge or Quadratec and get free shipping. Same wheel, difference titles.

Reading this thread makes me think about the woman who called 911 from the drive-through and demanded that the cops respond to her location because the fast food joint kept messing up her food order.

SteedGun, I am glad you were able to get the info needed to make a decision that will work out better for you in the end.

I agree with him. Complaining here rather than getting to the source of the problem doesn't make a whole lot of sense or help solve your problem. And just as you said good and bad experiences..you can't expect everyone is going to give you a hug and say it'll be ok. Some will say get off your butt and do something about it! My Point is, as I'm guessing his was, do something about it...call them and find a solution! And it would appear it all worked out even better for you...

I ordered argent AEV Savegres from Northridge4x4 at 9:44 this morning and got the UPS shipping confirmation less than 3 hours later. They are scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. Fast service...so I just ordered the Teraflex hinge and carrier from them and got a 10% discount on it for being a wranglerforumite.

Since AEV indicates that they only produce wheels in silver, argent and matte black, one would assume that black AEV wheels listed on other web sites would be the matte black. Or if assumption is not your thing, a phone call works.

AEV is and has always been a great company. I've been a fan since their first Brute. There are a lot of reasons why a web order might go awry...and it is not always the company's fault. If I don't receive an order confirmation from anyone within 24 hours, I send an email or make a phone call. It would only be after many futile attempts at contact that I would even consider posting something negative online about the company.
