Aftermarket Headunit w/ Uconnect?

I'm looking at purchasing a different aftermarket headunit because the stock one is pretty bland. My question is though, will the UConnect features I already have work with aftermarket headunits?

Also which headunits are popular on the newer Jeeps? Any recommendations?

I struggled with that too. I couldn't decide between Jeeps upgraded Nav system or an aftermarket double din. I wound up with the Appradio which was ok, but they stopped supporting it after the iphone 4s. I ended up buying an iPad mini and use that as my head unit. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

Yes, there are superior aftermarket double din head units that will perform better, look better and still have the bluetooth capability. You can also keep your steering wheel controls with added harnesses. Feel free to go to the Elec & Comm section and read about it.

Vastly superior car audio available in the aftermarket.

You will lose the uconnect features and stock microphone.....the good news is, you will keep your steering wheel controls for music, but the new head unit will have its own Bluetooth system.....

I went with a Kenwood DD, and alpine amp (900 watts total) and speakers, and a Pioneer low profile sub....

All I can say is awesome!
