Aftermarket Top / Dual; Top Question

I have a top question.

I ordered a new '12 unlimited a couple of weeks ago. I chose to order the black hard top only. Living in Wisconsin, the hard top will be a good thing in the winter.

However, I plan to also buy a soft top for summers. Will I have any problems fitting the soft top hardware and still be able to use the hard top? Obviously I want to be able to put the hard top back on without having to remove a bunch of hardware. I believe the fatory dual top option must work that way, will my aftermarket soft top work the same way?

I like the looks of the Bestop Trektop and am leaning toward that one! I have a Bestop on my CJ and have been very happy with it.

Thanks All!

I have a 2012 2 door and ordered it with a hardtop only. I installed a Bestop Supertop NX. When I completely remove the softop for the winter only the brackets on the sport bar just behind the door opening will remain on the Jeep. Not sure about the Trektop, but I would imagine since that is a frameless top all the parts, in any, would probably be removed be installing your hardtop. So, yes looks to work the same as the factory top since Bestop make the frame type for Jeep anyway

Nope. All hardware comes off. There's not much to it though. The Trektop in particular is actually "frameless".

Got it, sounds doable and pretty painless.
Thanks for the advice. Confirms that going aftermarket was not a mistake!
