I have these Terra grapplers 275/70/18 now and just not happy with the look , i was told when i bought them a month ago they were a great allseason daily driver tire. I just want a more aggresive looking tire. Whats the best aggresive tire for daily asphalt use. .. Now i have a 275/70 , no rubbing no problems.. Would i be able to get a little wider / lower prof tire like 285/65/18 without problems? I have a 1.5 TF leveling kit being installed this week.... Thanx all

I plan on getting Cooper ST MAXX tires. They are a hybrid tire, a cross between a all terrain and a MT tires. They have a nice aggressive looking sidewall and an aggressive tread without being as aggressive as a mud tire.

I've got the pro comp xtreme's and they are pretty good on the road. they look fairly aggressive and grip REALLY well in mud and snow. Not the cheapest but im happy with them. They only complaint I have is they are a little too quiet on the road. I like a bit of tire noise but thats just me.

If you're wanting an aggressive look then you're going to need a MT...

Duratracs are a good option. A decent all around tire, at a decent price.

Not really. I have Cooper ST Maxx's. They are pretty aggressive looking, and super awesome. Quiet on the road, and very durable. Not an MT.

There are plenty of tires with more a aggressive tread than the Terra Grapplers that "can" be used on a DD. The more aggressive the tread the louder the tire, lower the fuel economy and progressively less sophisticated road manners. You just have to decide how much of these niceties you are willing to give up in return for a more expensive tire and its looks.

All the tires mentioned above plus plenty others have a more aggressive tread but just don't expect to have your cake and eat it too. The Duratracs are about as close as you can get to a great balance but they do not have the most aggressive tread pattern.

The Duratrac has been treating me very well for the last year. Decent on-road manners, only a slight hum at highway speed, and it handles snow like no other tire I've ever used. Not very good in the goopy mud but dedicated mud tires aren't as good on the pavement.

Looks pretty good too:

Nice TruckLites!

Attachment 1383345

I'm running DynaPro MT's .. Definitely not all terrain, but I was running BFG-TKO.. Huge difference, a little more noise but a much better feel & more aggressive.

Wheels and tire set look grate. Wheel don't look deep in. What is the back space on those 17 wheels? Any rubbing?

Poison Spyder Crusher flares (full width, not narrow). Powder coated black with a texture that makes them look like plastic from a distance. I highly recommend them. They're beefy as hell and have several extra brackets to reinforce them. The rears tend to be back ordered so you'll want some patience when you order them. The sales guy I ran into in Moab says they're running 3 shifts to keep up with demand.

Here's a picture with the rears after they showed up and I was able to get them on:

You'll learn to hate nutserts. But they're fine once they're installed.

They are 4.5 back spacing, and 9 inch wide, so they stick our nice.... Absolutley no rubbing, and no lift on it.

+1 on that size. 17x9 with 4.5" backspacing works great with a 315/70R17 tire, even before I swapped on the new fender flares. I only got just a hint of rubbing on the inner front fender flare when I had my swaybar disconnected and fully stuffed the front tire. I'm running a 2.5" lift with bump stop extensions.

Do like my Duratracs, they are wearing better than stock BFG MT's did. Better traction. Quiet too.
