Air Compressor setups.

So, I want to put an air compressor and tank on my Jeep. But, I'm having trouble thinking of an out of the way place to put it, that still gives me access to all five tires. I'm thinking about somewhere underneath on the frame. But, not married to the idea. Anybody got any suggestions, ideas, or pictures?

I'd like to see where and what size tanks people are using too. I have a Viair 400P compressor and I got the Senergy under hood mount for it but I'd like to add a tank.

I have a dual ARB mounted under drivers seat. Air tank between radiator and engine and disconnects front and rear. Works pretty good.

Do you have pics? I run a lock box under my seat. So, I'll still have to find somewhere else for the compressor. But, I'm sure someone else would be interested.

Yeah, that would be an option. But, I'm planning on putting another lockbox under that seat. Should have said that earlier.

Clean nice, and cheap.. Well bracket is about $50 bucks..

Quick disconnects on front bumper and rear

I was looking at putting an air port at each wheel well but that is a little much.. I am running Dual 2.5 gallon tanks.

Thanks.. I used a cheap compressor, and put in a check valve after I burnt up my first one due to no check valve. The Second one I cracked the head on tiring to Tap it out for a different fitting. Over the compressor is pretty decent for $59 dollars

I don't have pictures of my VIAIR tanks installed, but I do have pictures on my plastic Tanks I built for test/fitment. I was going to use these for air tanks then I realized the danger of Pressurized PVC and quickly changed my mind.

Tanks mounted here on both sides, bottom of tank is well above the bottom of the frame rail and rock armor, everyone has expressed concern about them hitting rocks but with plastic tanks in I could never seem to hit it on a rock. But regardless I love the location it is making use of dead space and is well protected has a rock shield to deflect highway debris but will not function as a true skid plate.

Back to when I started.

Not to bad of a deal where I bough mine.

Passenger side works too.
I have amps under both seats. Plus the ARB under the drivers. I'll go take pics in a bit.

ARB under seat mounted to seat frame. It moves with the seat. We make the brackets.

I always thought projects like this were interesting. Subscribed. That thread done by Haficon seems legit. I like the double ARB design but man, I can't see myself spending 400+ for a name-brand pump when it cost less than 200 to get a giant air compressor for a garage set up.

After a million hours of research, I think I will go with one of the Viairs- that 33% duty cycle one (400P, I think). I'll probably skip the tank for now anyway. I have a CO2 tank too. Subscribed to figure out mounting options. The 2012 is really tight under the hood.

JPI also did my dual ARB under the passenger seat. I've also seen threads where people mount them in the rear storage above the wheel well. Wheel well isn't ideal because you would have to run wires all the way back there vs. having it close if you go under the seat.

I have one air valve at the front bumper. My air hose is long enough to easily get to all 4 tires with plenty of slack. No need for one in the rear, but I'll probably put one there when I get a rear bumper.

I previously had the Viair 400P which was mounted under the hood. It had terrible overheating problems. At it's worst, it would overheat after two tires with no locker use.

Subscribed. Here's where I mounted my ARB (link below) but I'm thinking about moving it and I bought a 2gal storage tank and I haven't decided where to mount it yet. Also getting air horns

I will get some up. Come to find out the VIAIR 2.5 gallon tanks are a little larger than I though. Mounting them where I wanted to under body would no work as they hang to low. I just mounted them in the cargo area to the fender wells. Cargo room is not such a big deal to me as I have had the Jeep over a year and never carry anything. Maybe some camping gear but not much more.

But I just ordered a VIAIR 450c compressor. The head on my current compressor can not be repaired.
