Air conditioned or ventilated seats?

The only thing I miss from my Lexus was its air conditioned seats... Has anyone found a mod for this? I want to upgrade my cloth seats, and am thinking Katzkins, but would like to see if there is a a seat blower option out there to consider before I do.

Not sure you will get your answer here.

There are some aftermarket options, but they will not be cheap. I am not sure how they will stand up to the elements thu.

That said, pull the top and doors, You will forget about the seat chillers.

Ok, ok! I supposed I asked for that....

But, I'm taking the Jeep to Abu Dhabi, where it is frequently above 110 and 90% humidity, not to mention some laws that are widely interpreted by the police. A 2.5" lift ad 33" tires may not pass inspection even... And violations can lead to impoundment, imprisonmet and deportation... Besides, dune bashing without the top and doors is one thing, but a daily commute in 5mph stop and go traffic is another....

2012 Grand Cherokee Overland has that option...you might be able to retrofit them to work in your Wrangler?

This is about as close as you can get:

Most business and commercial jets have sheep skin on the crew seats. Sheepskin is also very popular with motorcyclists. It "breathes" in the summer.

My wifes new Durango has heated and cooled seats, I laughed
when I noticed the controls, but on a long trip it was nice to cool off the bottom end

I'm not sure if they make a kit that allows you to do it but you could probably do a seat swap with seats that do have the feature. For me its not worth the $$ but it would be nice to have them in FL on 100+ degree weather. Last time I checked when I have the doors or top off the wind doesn't blow up my back and ass.

Oh and ignore the haters on here, some members forget that JKs are $35,000+ vehicles now and not cheap go carts you beat on strictly on weekends.

Ya it would be nice, but maybe not worth the investment trying to do to this vehicle.

That would be a great idea. You should look into the Grand Cherokee system and see if can be transferred over. If it can, you better let me know.

Nah, just go for the Grand Cherokee one. if you want to stay cool, there is nothing embarrassing about it. What is embarrassing is when people want to look all tough and lift their Jeep and put on 37s...and then drive around town all the time.

So using the Jeep a person bought with their own money. Buying whatever upgrades they want once again with their own money is some how embarrassing. Dang that's news to me.

Well if taking the violations widely interpreted by the police could lead to imprisonment/deportation or what have you. Then I wouldn't take the jeep due to the fact that it might not pass inspection. That being said, if you're willing to take the jeep, why not risk the top and doors being off anyways?

Just my thought

I bought my JKU used, black with black leather. I would have gotten cloth if I ordered it new. I think instead of heated seats it would be better to have ventilated seats. Its pretty darn warm trying to sit in them after the top has been off and sitting in the sun for a while. However I am going to try and find a set of seat covers for the time being.

stevil, don't let country bumpkins scare you off. It's pretty typical for Jeep forums...a lot of hot air. Did you manage to get this done?

It's funny because I was just told about the one-liners and how they do not help. (Absolutely true) And if you have nothing positive or informative or useful to add, Then one should not add anything at all. Yet it seems to be all over and continues.

I was looking for Something to keep the seats cool as well, as sitting ones rear on those Things for a 9+ drive in 102 continuous weather, is no fun... A friend of mine just twittered covers for this issue and swears by them. I have yet to ask him where they were purchased, but will check. He does a lot of driving through the desert When deployed back for training. I'll get back to u

1. Get the heated seats.
2. Turn them on high.
3. Drive half way to your destination.
4. Turn the seat heater off.
5. The second half of your trip will feel SO much cooler.

I have ventilated seats in my suburban. They are perforated like JandS showed. I hate them because any dirt or grime gets in the holes, and it doesn't clean out! I hate the things...

I think this is probably how the factory seats are done:

Amazon.com: Automotive Seat Ventilation & Seat Heating System For Car Truck RV Seats: Car Electronics

I've had this in my 2010 Ram and in my current '13 Charger R/T. Anyone bashing them has never ridden any distance with them. Even w/ cloth seats in the Jeep I wish this was an option.
