Anyone else have this? 60 degrees outside, heater temp all the way to the 'cool' side, doesn't matter which vents open, but let's just say it's pointed to face and feet. The air is warm. In my truck or my wife's car, the vents feel like the outside air (cool), but in my Jeep it is noticably warmer, too warm. Is this a known problem?
I've noticed the same thing on occasion. I've had luck at cooling it down by turning on air conditioning just until I feel cool air, then turning it back off. Then I seem to get cool outside air.
It seems like the vent system itself has gotten warm enough, maybe from engine heat or sun(?), to make the incoming air feel warmer than outside air on the coldest setting until the ducts are cooled down.
I've also had very warm air blowing in on the coolest setting, on a cool (50°F day) while hill climbing off road at very low speed (4LO 1st gear) - maybe engine heat again?
During slow driving? The engine and exhaust heat the air around them, so the ambient intake air is actually warmer than the actual ambient outside temp. Normal, and happens in any vehicle.
Apparently normal for a Wrangler. First car I have had that does this. Running the A/C for a minute does seem to flush the warmer air some, then it is better. Yes, typically starting from a stop (when I turn it on). Just annoying that it has this (what I see as an) issue.
